Conquer Club

Okay, this endeavor may or may not work, but I'm going to give it a shot anyways. For some future projects here at Conquer Club I am going to be in need of a "focus group" of sorts. However, it won't really work like a normal focus group does. It will be more like an overall "sounding board" if you will to try and improve being able to make decisions that will benefit the community in the most positive manner possible.

In order to help make this work I need the help of the community at large, both incredibly active users as well as those who perhaps do more "reading" than "writing" in the forum.

Now, I'm not entirely sure how big this sort of sounding board group needs to be, or exactly how it will work, but I do know it needs to be compiled of community members from all walks of the forum. A few tournament addicts, some map-making experts, some general browsers, those who stir the pot a bit, and everyone else. We need the opinions from all angles so-to-speak.

So, here is what I'm requesting:

Take a moment to think on your forum experience so far, however long it may have lasted. Then think of those individuals who you feel have their finger on the pulse of the community. Maybe you only have experience in one particular area, that's fine, let me know some people from that area. You might be everywhere in the forum and can give me some names from everywhere, that's great too.

Then, post a list of at least a couple names, but no more than 10 (I don't want things to get out of control) of those individuals who have been helpful, entertaining, concerned about policy, interesting, contributory, or other similar things who you think if given a chance to discuss ideas could do so with the best interest of the site at heart.

If you wish to contribute to the discussion please take this seriously and keep this thread free from tangents and off-topic posts. It will go a long way to helping make the process of getting something along these lines started more quickly.

I would vote that, if you actually considered colton or whiteazn, that you be fired. AAFitz fits into that category too.

Moving on..

I find that the vast majority of the posters in GD, C&A, teh spam forum, or Suggestions/Bugs, are always simply spamming, trolling, or flame baiting. To find people that actually give a damn, and don't act like stupid kids, you have to dig into the Tournaments and Map Foundry forums. These people actually give a shit about this site, and not just how they can become a moderator.

There are those who would believe that "typical dissenters" should not be part of a focus group; I disagree. Those dissenters who are able to do so wittily rather than just testily, comprise an admirable thinking section, who could represent a segment of the population that truly believes improvements must be made.

MrChangsha is an example of a witty dissenter.
King Herpes is another who makes witty remarks, provided you can make sure his Queen keeps him gratified enough on off-table hours to keep his mind on his work rather than his organs *grins at KH*
Woodruff attempts to keep a very positive, aboveboard, and prove-it attitude, so could also be a good candidate.
As for mods, one of the mods I've found most willing to investigate "how to" rather than simply respond with an easy "no" is SteelHorse, so I'd nominate him.

Owenshooter would be a good fit. If you're looking for input from all corners of discussions here at C.C. then you must accept Owenshooter and his baggage. Otherwise, it's just the same old-same old.

I'll second Mr. Changsha too, his wit is exceptional.

I'd like to help make CC a better community, keep in mind I stick to the lower four topics though. I generally stay in Sugs&Bug bunny, C&A, The Garbage Disposal, and Generalized Discussions.

For serious, serious:
Basically any mapmaker would probably be good, a few of the tourny organizers possibly, Multi busters, suggesters.
A few names:
Timminz(Aside from the little incident a few days back)
Woodruff(Can be rather insightful at times, does get into random disputes with people though)
Blitz(Been on the site awhile, and is a fairly decent(Understatement) player.
GabonX(seems pretty discussion compatible)

hecter(Because he has proven a bit helpful in the past, but isn't really the little pet(in my experience)
