Points question

The other day I played someone who had a lot less points than me, but when I looked at their profile they had played as many games as I and had a better winning percentage.
Why do they have so many less points? Does that mean they play lower ranks or lots of 1v1 games?
Just curious.

I'll cut someone if they don't answer, though I won't cut Bruceswar.

Seriously?
If you play higher ranked people and he plays lower ranked, he will have less points
If you play games with more people and he play games with fewer people, he will have less points
I had to read the second post to figure out that this was not a joke.

Yeah, this ones kind of obvious. Also If you win 50 games in a row and then loose 50 games in a row, your score will be very low.
On the other hand, if you loose 50 games first, then win 50 games, your score will be very high.
(assuming you play people with similar ranks in all 100 games).

So, winning percentage is probably a better indicator of skill than points, correct?

Winning percentage is completely meaningless without context.
Someone winning 30 % of his 1v1 or team games is doing pretty bad.
Someone winning 30 % of 6-8 player games is doing very well.
And you can“t figure that out yourself ?

Maybe they just aren't that good at non-hasbro world domination.
