I think the 'join a game' tab should and will go soon. It has become as obsolete as the "im feeling lucky" option on google. It's novelty at best. I'm curious, post if you have actually used this (actually joined a game you found this way).

You're righter than a conservative christian with a love of guns.
I don't think I've pressed 'join a game' since day 1 on CC.

start a public game is worse. create a triples/quads public game and sit back for 3 weeks until it is full.

Usually, when I join/start a game, I'm looking to play a particular map. If I can't find the map and settings I'm looking for in game finder, I start my own.

I use 'Join A Game' to join Speed games, so I can see all the ones available. Also, if you get a certain add-on you can filter the 'Join A Game' section to show games with players above a certain rank, or rating, or with only a certain amount of players needed to fill the game.

I use it - how the hell will we play public games without it? I either start or join public games, and i play over a hundred at a time. If you delete it, all that will be left are private games (which most high rankers stick to in order to keep their rank), so new players who don't know anyone yet won't be able to find games to play. This will result in a severe drop in new players, which will result in less money for lack and andy . . . I guess you know now what will happen to your suggestion to drop "join a game", eh genius?

Erm, no. There will still be Game Finder, which means that you can still search for games. I think you've misread or misinterpreted what was said.

Yes. This thread is about 'join a game' vs 'game finder', two of the tabs under 'game menu' on the left of your screen. I only use game finder. I'm surprised how many people said they use join a game. I though it would be very few.
I just clicked it, and scrolled down. I went through about 20 games that were all oasis, terminator, freestyle escalating, chained, fog. I would have to go through a good deal of the 24 pages to find a game that I want to join. But I guess others still use it. Interesting to hear.

Well, with Speed games there are never that many waiting for players anyway and people are more likely to join most types of game, it seems, so going through 'Join A Game' to 'Speed Games' is slightly easier.
There is also this 'filter' add-on I mentioned before which can be very useful as it's more specific that the 'Game Finder'; it allows you to search according to rank and amount of players needed, which I see a lot of people asking for.

I've never used the 'Join a Game bit. All i get is triples or quadruples games with all high rankers on team 1. I can't be bothered to go through pages, so I use the Game Finder. This saves a lot of time and gets me games that I like the look of.

I use it, esp for speeders, and when I want a 1v1 cas game (which is like, never) just go to the last page of public games.

Indeed, who knew? Apparently neither of us!
I've changed my mind now...the join speed game tab is a joy to behold.
Our mental symbiosis is frankly uncanny. Are you my multi...?
I know I left one around here somewhere...

I am. But I've morphed into my own intelligent being. We should play a a game together some time.

It is nice for when you create a game with settings that are already out there for another game or couple of games---you can then join those games to fill up faster, or keep creating with your own.

The results of this poll really surprised me. I thought it would be 90% or more saying that they don't use it. I'm glad I learned about the speed game tabs. Its amazing how you can be here so long, and not know about something like that. Although when I used it, it doesn't show any games I'm already in. If for instance im already in one speed game waiting, and I make a second to see which one fills faster. Its a bit disconcerting not to see my own game, I guess just because im used to that from game finder.

Well that's because on Game Finder, you only specify if the game you're looking for is waiting for players or not. If you use the 'Join A Game' tab and then go onto 'Speed Games', you can't join a game you're already in, so it won't appear.
