Conquer Club

Just curious, when someone gets a forum ban, whats the procedure that the mods go about handling it?
Wouldn't it be procedure that the banned individual receive an official pm regarding the matter detailing the offense as well as the duration of the ban from the mod that has issued the ban?

here is how it goes:

you are sitting on your pc, and you feel like going to cc.

you enter and all is well, you see you have 3 messages, so you scroll over with your mouse, click on your inbox, and:

"You are not authorised to view messages".

that is how it looks. then you check your email, and you laugh at what posts were reported.

you have no rights. you feel violated at the end of it.

First of all, who is going to determine what is inappropriate content.
What might be right for me might not be for you. Get over it.
If someone gets offended they should stop reading and leave the sight.
Someone at CC have a big head full of power??
(maybe a little chubby guy wearing fatigue's and black boots)
Get over yourself and at least communicate with your so called offender...

what in the hell are you even going on about? did you even read the original post? he is asking about the procedure for banning individuals from the forums for certain periods of time... i don't even know how your response falls under any aspect of his question... to answer your question, when you are banned, you receive an email, not a PM, to let you know why you have been banned, etc... if they sent you a PM, how would you be able to read it, azzezo? when you are forum banned you do not have access to your PM's, so it would make zero sense to contact you via PM concerning the matter. if you believe it isn't valid, you can submit an e-ticket to have it reviewed. if you have mods on your other chat engines, you can contact one of them to find out what exactly is going on, etc... anything else you want to know about banning from the side of the banned player, contact me via PM, azzezo...-0

You get 3 warnings. That's their idea of "communication". But that's it. After that, all downhill. Over a period of 2 years, it seems I got all of my 3 warnings (probably a bit more, mods used to be more lenient), and then in January of this year, I got my first ban. 24 hours, next one would be 72. Seemed like it would suck, so, I wasn't too bad then. I got no warnings after that. 7 or 8 months, and no warnings. Then, a few days ago, I posted something perhaps a bit inflammatory, perhaps a bit racist, depends on how you looked at it, and then I got another ban. First 24 hours, then bumped up to 72, as "That's what it was supposed to be." I sent an e-ticket, hoping for discussion, as that's what they're always telling you to do, but, of course, nothing.

well in my experience i received 2 prior warnings, over the same instance awhile back, then friday night i received (what i perceive to be) a 24 hr ban, i did not receive a pm as owen said, nor did i recieve an email, i did file an e-ticket yesterday morning, and I await a response. So since i received no formal notification, was i merely having technical difficulties, or was it a ban. The mod that edited my post for inappropriate conduct said that i would receive a pm, not an email. So there seems to be some confusion over procedure.

Don't look for consistency, don't look for rational, or proper due process, common sense, integrity, personal responsibility, or accountability. The individuals that possess these traits are long weeded out before they achieve any power here.

i love how all the new mods have wonderful senses of humour... that right there was hilarious... MeDeFe acts as if he hasn't been around the forums for awhile reading this sort of thing consistently and toes the party line... the only thing funnier was King Honey B dropping the comment of the year:

i truly appreciate all the times that the mods put in around here and the fact that they volunteer. i even count several of them among my odd little CC world of non-real world friends. i'd even go so far as to say that 2 of the new mods have easily skyrocketed into the top 3 of mods around here and i respect them as much as i loved and respected Twill. but that comment by JR seems to sum up what i read most around here... the consistency, responsibility and accountability that you would expect, just doesn't exist... i think it is wonderful that they are looking towards people like MeDeFe, Lord V and King Sam to help out around here, at least they actually frequent the forums, know the lay of the land and many members that have been around for some time, and get what is going on around here... but come on MeDeFe, you know you are just being funny with that one!!-0
