Definitely not, with inflation prices will only go up. I assume though that it wont go up anytime soon.
Check out trial pay options to score some free premium.
Though 25 bucks isnt that much at all. Perhaps buy your xbox live off ebay (I do it and you save heaps of cash ;)) then spend the saved money on premium here.

The trick is not for us to lower Premium Membership, but add more features to the website in addition to Premium Only Perks, to make the value of Premium Membership go up. ;)

Dude - it's $25. If you can't afford the money for a premium membership - how do you afford the internet?

Effectively, it goes down ever time it is not adjusted for inflation.

Not the price, the value of the $25.

Do the prices of your XBOX games ever go down?

As well...you'd rather pay $15 for a monthly membership than $25 for a yearly membership? Son, go back to school and learn some cipherin'.

Actually, by not adjusting for inflation the value is going up because the inflation adjusted price is going down. In other words, you get the same service, yet the price, if it were to keep up with inflation would have to be higher. Think of it this way. if you worked for a company for the last 10 years and produced a consistent quality widget for them, becoming more productive with experience, yet you got no raise, then you would effectively have gotten a wage cut over time.

To be honest, It shows just how great a guy lack is, because the price is ONLY $25. The value compared to other similar sites, is not even comparable. He has had many options for generating more revenue from this game...and many have suggested them...but its very clear that his goal, is to deliver a great game, at a fair price...and I think its the main reason why CC really is so fun, and has such a great community.

What if we have a period of deflation? It seems to be an arbitrary assumption that inflation is a constant.

Fat chance, the powers that be will spend billions of your tax dollars to avoid deflation. Banks hate, just hate, deflation.

I'm not counting on deflation any time soon.

I'm not counting on it either, but it's still a possibility.

im a sudent. Considering i pay for rent, internet, xbox live, tv licence (yes owning a tv in the uk costs about $220 a year!, good old bbc). i pay for going out places, drinking beer, watching sport, mobile phone bill and taxs. and all on a part-time job and student loans.

Having saying all that i think that $25 dollars a year is a quite steep for what i would be gaining.

CC could solve this either by the the carrot: cutting it to say $15 per year?
or more likely... the stick: making things like certain maps or more modes unavailable.

i hope a moderator sees this, as i need an excuse to buy premium!! ;)

Buy 4 less pints at the pub this weekend and you're all set.

The price for prremium should be raised to 35 dollars a year, then maybe I would get 2.5 min speed games

As has always been mentioned, you get out of Premium Membership what you want to put in. If you want to play 30 speed games a day, for a year, you'll certainly get your money's worth, many times over. If you want to play 20 active games, and take a couple of turns a day, with mixed in speed games and private games, you'll certainly get your money's worth. Want the option to play a bunch of games when you have free time, and then few/to none? You'll still probably get your money's worth.

It all comes down how much you want to get out of your Premium Membership.

Marshall, I don't have a TV (and I know, I live in America where this stuff is much cheaper) but I started it when I lived in England and couldn't afford the T.V. license. You would be surprised how quickly you forget about it. And you can always go watch football down at the pubs.

But on a side note, I clicked a banner ad for something like "Imperial Conquest" which is, I guess, a competitor to this site. Only they have only one map, less features, less community, AND it is $9.95 PER MONTH! I also used to play on itsyourturn and brainking, both those sites charge about $25 for three months.

Seriously, CC is the cheapest gaming site around. Every time I start to look around for a better or cheaper alternative, all it does is reinforce the value provided by this site.

I do all these...
buy your xbox live on ebay its cheaper ;)
25 bucks as a once off fee for a year is real cheap.
