I was just wondering what holding a player hostage actually entails. If anyone has an answer please let me know.

Thank you

When have you seen it used?

I saw one times where someone made 5 multies all called like invasion1 then invasion2 etc. and then joined a game with a really high ranked player. since the multies were all new recruits, if one of them one, the high ranked player would loose tons of points. they all teamed up on him and held him hostage and made all kinds of demands. They had him(or her now that I think of it) go git a mod and try to get some person his account back. it lasted for a while, dunno how it ended.

He did it a bunch of times, but here is the game I was talking about Game 4567872.

The chat is a good read if you have tons of time

the place i have seen it used is in the rules:
Unwritten Rules

Obviously any gross abuse of the game is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to: throwing games or deliberately benefiting from thrown games, intentional deadbeating, holding players hostage, serial teammate killing, hijacking accounts, systematically "farming" new recruits.

I was just curious.

also if some has the warden and gas chamber in supermax and i take the warden from them but leave the gas chamber making it so they lose as many units as they gain each turn would that be a hostage?

for example JaMarcus would not kill off his opponents last territiory in doodle earth. he had close to 80 or 90 troops and just wouldn't end it. its especially suck if you not have premium cuz then you lose a slot.

Couldn't the other guy just deadbeat his way out of it?

Could, but no one should be forced to deadbeat as a way out of a game, thus it is against the rules.
