Same as last time, so check out the archives, everyone has the same action, Rolegift, what you gift is a mystery to all but me, but when night falls and you open your presents from the other players the real fun begins...

How do I gifted box?
During the day phase only you may PM me a name, you will send this person a gift to be revealed to them during the night phase, gifts stack, one player can potentially receive many gifts at once, most gifts expire if not used the night they are recieved.
If I do not send you a role PM stating otherwise you have the typical town win condition, eliminate all threats to town.


Rules
1. Be sure of who you are giving the gift to the first time! you can change it at the last minute if they are getting lynched or something, but I won't be able to run the game if my PM box asplodes

2. Be sure to make your votes and unvotes in bold, preferably in a very visible color

3. The vote counts are correct until corrected, if I accidentally put a vote in the wrong place, please tell me.

4. If the roles are unbalanced, that's totally your fault.

5. Feel free to quote your role PM to help prove you are town, of course I haven't sent any to town but whatever...

6. The dead are not to talk about game related material.

7. No player is to discuss any game related material outside of this thread unless otherwise instructed.

8. Night talk is not permitted to feature game related material, you may gloat over lynching someone, but do not discuss how this relates to information or strategy.

9. No editing or deletion of posts no matter how much you regret it.

10. Deadline is 7 days from the begining of the day, if the deadline is reached without a lynch or "no lynch" in place, there is a 50% chance of either the person with the highest number of votes dying, or the day ending with no death.

11. Don't spam the thread begging for gifts, and stay polite, Santa is watching you.

12. Do not quote your present text, or try to meta w/ it (What's the third letter in the candy box gift's second line line, etc.)

But can't everyone give their gifts to one person over and over? Lots of players could never end up getting roles.

i don't think yomiel signed up. his post doesn't say anything about this so i'm assuming he didn't, so i'd like to be in.

in case he does sign up, i'm out. don't want to play with him ever.

Considering how well I did last Rolegift, I'm def in.

If by "roles" you mean night actions, then yes. That is an intentional possibility.

now i do have a few questions about the game but i'll save most of them for after the rules and description are added.
my primary concern at this time is about the mechanics of this particular gameplay.

so tell me if i have this right.

everybody can send a gift to another player. some are mafia (and just like any mafia they talk to each other at night and kill somebody) while others are town. but they all send gifts.
the gifts are sent during the day and received at the beginning of the night. the gifts are basically actions and the only thing that's certain is that one person always gifts the same thing but at the start of the game nobody knows what that is, so deduction is needed. if this isn't confusing enough, the same person can receive multiple gifts while another person may receive none at all.

i have more things to ask about balance and possible exploits but first i need to know if i got it right about how the game works.

Let me add a question:

is the mafia's standard NK something that has to be given or is it "above" the petty limitations of all other gift-giving powers?

Iirc, in the previous games mafia kill was not a gift, just a night action; and pretty much everything DiM says is true.

To the rest of you, listen carefully, I will not blacklist a player who has not broken my rules, plain and simple, if you are going to be so childish as to hold personal grudges against someone for an online game, then you need to back off, because the one being over dramatic is you.
Now, listen, it is a matter of common courtesy not to make things personal, if I say; held a grudge against edoc for selling me down the river in POTC, that doesn't mean he is any more or less likely to be mafia or town in any game, and that's all that matters, ok?

Calling others out over their past, a thing that has nothing to do with the game or something we can prove or disprove is not cool and not fair, so please, lay off this kind of talk, just drop it. So I don't want to see any accusations about yomiel's or edoc's alleged offsite pasts, just play the game. Yomiel has already PMed me that she will not be joining the game, but I won't forbid her either, if anyone wants to be a huffy drama queen and storm off, fine PM me your conditions instead of making a scene, there ain't an entrance or exit, because it's all virtual reality.
