Time for FACTOIDS!!!

I'm going to post some useless bit of information that could win you countless sums of money if a man in a suitcase were to come up and ask you a random question.

I will then give a CATEGORY for the next tidbit that wastes 3 seconds of our lives to be posted in. It's something that's a rare piece of knowledge, one of those things that makes you go "HMM". So, here we go!

1) A penny has 180 ridged edges on the side of it

Despite the saying "American as apple pie", ou can't buy Bramleys (which the Uk calls "cooking apples") in the U.S. and thus it's hard to make a good uK-style apple pie.

Watched it all the time during the short, 4 week stint when we had cable TV - (It was in 1997 - We had it for four weeks, and then got rid of it again) After returning to normal free-to-air TV, I was unable to watch the crappy knock-off kid's 'Maze-Adventure-Game-Show' type of programmes - They just never compared.

Zapatista grass-roots communities began to organise their own Autonomous Municipalities in 1996. These locally elected councils were formed to oversee the self-governing of the areas of Chiapas where the people had risen in armed rebellion against the Mexican State on 1st Jan 1994. A total of 32 Autonomous Municipalities were organised, encompassing a support base of several hundred thousand.
