We've got every other European Country, so why not?

Looks an awful lot like the style you used for the orient express, I'd say try adjusting that style.

High values for such tiny bonus zones. Alternatively, tiny bonus zones for such high values.

Yeah I know, I just kinda pulled the bonus values out of my ass... ;)

When/if I eventually continue the development of this map, they will be adjusted properly.

Actually, there are so many and they're all about the same amount too high, so it may turn out to be balanced as is... I wonder if it would... might be interesting. I'd say they're not too bad, tho, since you do at least get one troop for each territ that'll need reinforce for each region. My first reaction was whoa that's a lot of bonus regions!

Yeah, it should be fun for big multiplayer games, and team games. Lots of small bonuses to take and build.

Diber should worth 4, instead of 3.
The colors in the first one are clearer.
1 thing is not specifyed: The roads make frontier with the normal territories, or there´s any special way for us to assault it?

I'm not sure what you are asking there? The railway stations connect to territories under them, they are not impassables. Only rivers are impassables.

Bonus values will be sorted later. I don't think any county should be worth 4, ie. all bonuses should be between 1 and 3 (except possibly the longest rail line).

Hmm, imageshack seems to have lost the image of the updated Albania map. I'll just re-upload it and post it here.

I was thinking, since the map has so many bonus areas, maybe a similar system like in 13 colonies map would work here: +1 for 1 county, +2 for 2, etc.

Got bored again so...

Here's a new "angle" on the Albania map. Pun intended...

I just can't keep myself from working on the Albania map. I've become fixated with it ;)

The last image was, by some odd fluke, a bit too large in the vertical. A small resize, and some graphical work, and here we are now:

I don't like the new angle, you were better off before. It separates the land from rail, and messes up your texture completely.

Yeah but there's so much more room. It was hard trying to fit everything in the old version.

And the angle didn't mess the texture. I changed the texture. The current texture is actually my kitchen floor.

The rail can be changed to run along the land, but this way looks so neat IMO... glassy and shiny... Don't say you don't like the rail lines! They shine! :D

Old texture was better. The rail should go along the land, as I'm sure the actual Albanian railroads don't go in and out of the country at right angles.

Meh. I can change the texture. There are plenty of textures to try. As for the rail, it's an abstract representation, not an accurate one. The beauty of the concept is that it saves room in the smaller territories - thinking about fitting numbers on the small map here.

The thing is, I tried making a version where the rail follows the land, and it looks a whole lot crappier IMO... I'll upload it just to show you, in a moment.

Hmmm... I think there is a greater problem than just the rail lines here.
You lack a consistent and Albanian theme. The texture and your color choices are one style, a style which I think is good for this map. The rail lines, the title, and the rest of the text are something wholly different. They are kinda modern in a 1970's sense of modern. That is not at all what the general populous thinks of in Albania. While it may have a great club scene, I don't know, but that is not what you think of when you think of Albania. The dirt colors and blurry texture are what you think of. Sometimes in makeing maps, it is good to just go with stereotypes of places, so people think that is works with the place.

also, rail lines, why not something like this:
Image
it was something I did quick just to show you, but I think it would make the rail lines work on the land. If you make them look like rail lines it may come out nice.

Hmm, very good ideas walrus. Thanks. Although I'm not sure how far I want to develop the graphical style of the map at this point. I'm thinking of the foundry restriction of 2 maps at a time, I still have 3 other maps I need to finish (Nordic, Lunar wars & Orient express) before this one.

Right, I forgot the stupid limit on maps. I get where it is coming from, but I don't like it still.

Yes, well... that aside, there's one flaw in your suggestion:

Image

The colours are on the rail lines and stations for a reason, they're to differentiate the different rail lines from each other. So how would I accomplish this if I were to go with your suggestion?

I don't know, you can just make the station fill that color, or the territory name.

Yeah ok, the territory name actually refers to both the territory and the station... So there will be 2 territories in each territory that has a station, if you get what I mean... They will be differentiated in the XML so that for example Kavajë territory will be named Kavajë and the station on it will be named Kavajë station.

So, colouring the territory name would be a bit confusing. Maybe I could try colouring the fill colour.
