April Competition: Lewis and Clark

On April 30, 1803, The United States signed a treaty with Napoleon, giving them the Louisiana Territory. This became known as the Louisiana Purchase. Lewis and Clark explored this territory on a famous expedition.

The goal is to hold all of the red territories, the states the Lewis and Clark went through.

Well... I'd like to see a map of the actual louisiana purchase, as opposed to the western USA. PLus, some trail routes would be cool as well.

Most of those states weren't anywhere settled in 1803, so I'd suggest different borders.

I have to admit that I know nothing about the Louisiana Purchase; but 5 mins on Wikipedia gave me this map which might make a better basemap (which is broadly similoar to the one IH posted above):
