Greetings.

My map is a feature of the April Convoy Battle ONS-5. It began on April 28, 1943 (WWII), when Wolfsrudel Star and Amsel I attacked the convoy ONS-5.

Image

Visualize it with a blue background and amazing graphics when I touch it up on Gimp and the Map Foundry workers construct it to perfection. ;)

Some notes on Gameplay:

Catalinas PBY (airplanes) can assault U-360, U-192, U-531, U-630 and U-638

+ 4 for possessing all of Uboat Group Amsel I

+ 8 for holding all of Uboat Group Star

+2 for holding five subs

+ 4 for holding Naval Group North

+ 4 for holding Naval Group South

+1 autodrop for HMS Tay

+ 2 for HMS Vidette and Duncan

+ 1 for two Flower Class Cruisers (Loosestrife, Pink, Snowflake or Sunflower)

I really like the look of this; there's something really appealing about the hand-drawn diagrams that we don;t normally see in the foundry - I particularly like the different embellishments you've added to the groupings!

It would be nice to see a bit of colour to help distinguish the areas (but that's only to help see the borders between them more clearly)

Use levels or curves in Photoshop to turn those lighter lines into darker lines.

I currently don't possess Photoshop, mate. :P Not sure if Gimp has that capability...

Thanks Mr. Benn, yeah, colours would be ideal improvements. I'm going to neaten it up and pen the lines in for the second draft. Then, in Gimp, see what I can do to create a CC feel without becoming too extravagant - leave that to the foundry. You blokes in the foundry can make room for all of the bonus features and the like, right? I'll create a small summary of the initial beginnings of the battle, as well.

Also, which 'embellishments' did you particularly like? Because I'm ensuring that all of the cargo ships look unified (exactly the same as eachother) in the second draft (easier identification). Same with the two destroyers, four Corvettes and all Uboats. :D Smokestacks, guns, cabins will all remain.

Cheers

Here is the fully revised drawn version of the map:

I'll follow up with a brief Battle of ONS-5 introduction tomorrow. Cheers

[Moved]

It would appear that development of this map has stalled. If the mapmaker wants to continue with the map, then one of the Foundry Moderators will be able to help put the thread back into the Foundry system, after an update has been made. ;-)
