There's a Warcraft 3 map in the making, is there much need for this as well?

I don't like it, it may need to be larger and use less of the origional image. (I am aware you are missing a few areas yet)
I'd recomend redrawing over the entire thing in photoshop using a different layer and then deleting the origional image entirely.

copyrights are the problem in it besides the number of countries

if parades are illegal then newgrounds would have been sewed so many times, as i said in the other warcraft post, if no one is making a direct profit from selling or otherwise giving access to the content then it is not illegal.

Hey, if you want to work on this together (a WoW map and a Warcraft 3 map would be exactly the same) I'm willing to do that.

if i am not mistaken blizzard has already been asked, and they said no. if your gonna do this map you are going to have to change it slightly (maybe make the names of the territories and continents different).

Yeah, but other people were saying to like change the names or something. Like call it "World of not warcraft"

I don't know how to extract the information because I'm not familiar with the Google Maps API, but at
http://ww.MapWOW.com there's a complete "overhead" view of all the terrain. I'd like to see a map use this. (Of course clean up the edges and stuff). What say you?

the liscense says NON COMERCIAL. it means you can't make money off of it. this site has a fee from premium meberships. therefore if you make this map, and give it to the suite, they will be usuing it for comercial purposes. which brings up another point. you can't give liscense of the map to the site so they can use it, because blizzard said basically no to that to.
you can't legally give it to the site, and you can't make money from it. while i'd love to see a warcraft 3/wow map, i don't see how you can do it legally.
granted i'm no lawyer, and i could be wrong.

To best honest, they likely wouldn't give a damn. It's their legal department's job to respond the way they do, but there isn't a person at blizzard who would pursue any action and I guaranty you any of them that are risk fans and use this site would probably be thrilled.
Blizzard very much loves to see this kind of creativity from fans and regardless of any legalities, it's free advertising whenever fans make works from and/or based on their games. Naturally they'd prefer to see GOOD works, but any one with half an eye and some common sense would be able to see that if it's good bad prior to it being approved.
The ONLY half way issue is the fact that this site offers "premium membership" for a fee. Frankly, if it's just a donation-and-receive-a-special-account, it wouldn't be a problem. So long as the site doesn't offer exclusive access to said works based on that paid membership, it should be fine, I'd think.

Well, thanks vim. However, Blizzard already stopped this.. Or at least they told me to stop. Hence why my image linky doesn't work anymore. I think the problem is that lack makes money from this stuff. Or at least, he maintains that illusion. So Blizzard doesn't like people making money off their stuff.
Anyway, my cease and desist wasn't very specific on the why. Just the gist of stopping immediately.
