Stats:

52 territories total
9 nations for bonuses

Territories per nation:

Unallied nations 5
Assorted 6
Earth 6
Lightning 5
Fire 7
River 3
Water 4
Wind 5
Tea 7
Sea 4

notes:

To make this work though there is a lot of complete fabrication on my part. I had to find a way to name the smaller sections of the shinobi nations and where their borders lie. I tried to make the stuff I added as close to the anime/manga as I could but there is only so much that is shown.

All of the names and territories I added are based off of the manga or anime in some way (diving deep in the filler episodes) and I tried to place them in locations that make sense in the naruto world.

Thats strange. Alright I uploaded it up on my own server now so hopfully it will work from there. obviously there is a lot of work to do yet, more borders and the entire mape needs to be scaled down but it's a start.

Alright I posted up the map partially created. Although I like the number of territories the nations I have for the ones I have already separated, they are too small and too close together to be easily readable. I'm not sure if it would be better to just drop territories or if I should put the territory labels away from the territories themselves on connected with lines

image link still doesn't work for me, but I found the map at the site mentioned above. Same old story - decent map layout, graphics need a ton of work, and there are copyright considerations.

I updated the map making all of the territory borders and giveing the vast majority of the territoies names.

graphics still needs a ton of work, I need names for the remaining territoies and I have to add the lines for attack over the water.

Functionality wise the map should be ok now. If you see any balancing problems please tell me your ideas.

Graphically there is still a lot of work to be done. I need to add texture to the countries, replace the white lines representing bridges, text for the territory names, territory borders, and key graphics with decent looking art.

Pretty much improve the look of everything.

You are also missing some names.

Are there only 5 countrys in land of wind?
No more?

If so, a bonus of 4 is way too high.

I’m missing names for 2 countries in wind, 1 country in earth and 1 country in water. I’m trying to find more names for those countries but I think I may have exhausted the anime and manga for territory names and will have to make some up for those. I haven’t forgot, I just need to do more research.

The reason that I gave wind such I high bonus even though it only has 5 countries is because it has borders with 5 countries as well. I suppose that the bonus could be dropped to 3-4 with that one. I think I may have been thinking about the other nation with only 5 countries (Assorted shinobi nations) but I want to keep them with a bonus of five since they will be so hard to hold (borders with 11 countries)

Naruto is real lame but the map looks pretty good

You also miss a name in Fire.

I think the unallied nations are gonna be unholdable.
The land of sound doesn't even connect to the others...

Ok I translated the names of the Japanese nations and territories to English as the forge rules stated.

I put up two versions of the map one with unit dots and one without. Although I think the one with unit dots look cluttered I think they may be necessary to clearly see the unit counts when the game is being played.

Tell me what you think.

At this point I think I am pretty happy with it. I may change a texture here or there but I don't think there are any more major changes I had lined up for myself. So I need feedback before I start on the XML.

Oh yeah and just on the side here. Is there a way to change the poll or once you make it are you stuck with it?

I'm a little concerned about the copyright issues, as this comes from a televsion show, yes? Also, currently, the map has little appeal to me.

I understand your concerns with the copyright issues with this. The problem I have been having is that the creator and copyright owner of Naruto is Masashi Kishimoto, a manga artist in Japan. I do not speak Japanese and have been unable to find any way of getting in contact with him or anyone representing him. I have attempted to talk with the people who are in charge of brining the anime/manga to the United States but have not yet received a reply.

I have not lifted any art from any of the copyrighted Naruto work. This map was drawn by myself using the Naruto universe as theme.

As for you not being interested in it there isn’t much I can say. I put up the poll to ask people what they think about this map and the reception hasn’t been that bad (50% wanting to play and only 14% saying no) if there is anything specific you don’t like tell me and I’ll see what I can do.

New updates.

- Changed the coloring (tell me if you prefered the old style with solid colors over this)
- Made the border lines less intrusive
- Changed the way rivers were displayed
-I removed the wave country from the map. it was to small to show up well and served no real strategic value.

as always I'm looking for as much feedback as I can get.

Ask a japanese member of the site to translaye for you perhaps... I can't remember his name but doesn't the guy who made the British map live in Japen (although from the US originally...)

There really is not point continuing if at some point along the line it'll run into copyright issues. You need to be sure now, not later.

I agree. The problem I was having with that though is that as far as the plot from the show goes I ran out of names. So I’m not going to split up the desert into multiple territories but I think I’ll expand the temujin shores further north and the land of udon further west. The desert will still be pretty large but it won’t be so out of scale with everything else on the map.

As far as the copyright issue goes I have been trying to get in contact with anyone who has any kind of official relationship with naruto to get any kind of information but it has not been going well (no response from anyone)

I would be very thankful if there is a member on this website who does speak Japanese who would be willing to give me a hand with this.

I know that in general the anime/manga industry is very forgiving when it comes to copyright issues (just look at the relationship that they have with fan subs) but I am trying to get something official.
