Rubik's Cube Map

this is the first map.
on this map gameplay is normal.
to do:
* territory names
* bonuses
* improve graphics
* get someone's help with the xml stuff
this is the second map:
on this map things het a little bit more complicated. you start with 3 troops in the 8 squares that form a side of the cube and your goal is to move those squares to surround the one that stands alone. the lonely square is your capital. it can't be conquered and you can't reinforce or deploy troops there. how does the moving thing work? simple let's say you have 6 armies in a red square and attack an adjacent green square that has 3 troops. you roll the dice until you win and when you win you switch places so your remaining troops move on the green square (that now becomes red) and the green troops that died move to the former red square. because green lost all his troops only one will move to the new location. i really don't know if this is technically possible. i have no idea how the coding works. but if it's not possible i'll find a way to make it happen.
to do:
* add links between territories.
* territory names
* bonuses
* improve graphics
* get someone's help with the xml stuff
edit// the pics don't show. i wonder why?? i also added links to the pics in case you can't see them.

The seonc idea can't be done but the first seems OK.
Try and develop a better graphic version, perhaps where the squares are mixed up (although leave at least a few groups together)...
Try a 3D view, two halfs each showing three sides.

there is no way possible, you would have to change the code for the whole game, so you'd have to ask for lacks permission, plus then it wouldn't get on this site... sorry
You could try something different?

i assumed the second idea is not possible but i hoped it would be
ok so if the territorie can't switch colours to simulate the movement then here's a solution. you start around the single square and you must make your way towards the 8 squares with hole in middle.
so let's say you are blue. you have 3 troops in all green squares and you will move all your troops towards the blue ones. since colours can'd be changed for the territories but we still need to mantain a fixed amount of 9 territories we must switch only the armies. blue army in green square attacks red army in yellow square and wins. all the surviving blue troops move to the newly conquered yellow square and only one red army moves to the green square.
is this possible??

This looks like it will be much less appealing than Crossword.
I suggest you ditch this idea and work on something else.

very demoralizing
but still, is the gameplay idea i added feasable? can it be coded?

Deployment is always random I'm afriad so no...

ok. deployment is random. no problem this difficulty can be surpassed.
the goal would still be to occupy your colour.
but is this part possible:
since colours can'd be changed for the territories but we still need to mantain a fixed amount of 9 territories we must switch only the armies. blue army in green square attacks red army in yellow square and wins. all the surviving blue troops move to the newly conquered yellow square and only one red army moves to the green square.

I had this idea a while back (and posted it in the Free ideas thread)...
Would love to see it implemented... let me know if you need an XML guru?

seeing that the votes are so negative i don't think i'll be needing any help in making this map because it would be useless.
but i would like those that don't like the map to post their reasons. maybe things can be improved
come on don't be shy, share your thoughts

Hate to burst your bubble, looked like it might've been a decent map, but this has been tried before. The results:

I already had this idea. It was shot down.

Here is a new version with less borders and different bonus values
Boarders
Purple (2)
Blue (3)
Orange (4)
Red (5)
Green (6)
Yellow (8)
It is still based on a cube but the name is different and there now is a difference between territories.
here are both the Large and Small images. If this seems to be of interest I will write the XML and we will be off. Any questions or advise?

clever idea - I'm always a fan of mashing up games (chin. checkers, riskopoly, connect 4, etc).
Since it's already dead in the water I guess it doesn't matter that the attack route link colors in the original are wrong.
Cube Wars: it would be fun to see something in a stylized 3-D, like King of the Mountains.

He's correct...
The White and Yellow need to have Red Blobs next to them...
The Red needs to have it's blobs swapped over (i.e. white needs to be yellow and vice versa)

Don't like the idea.
Maybe I'm conservative, but the game of risk has it's map and it's a great map. Goal of the game is to take over the world, or continent, or destroy another army. Don't see much point in making a "crossword" maps or this map. I don't want to conquer third row or left quadrant.
I prefer classic map, nothig more.

I like the idea, I like the map of the second one, you could just have normal game play and that map, then you'd have eight of a color and then the middle would be something else, making it really hard to hold a continent, just an idea. I also like widow makers map, It's really funny how all of widdowmakers have his specific style.
