I have an idea for a Las Vegas Casino Map. I have the basic map layout, the legend of casinos and some ideas for country grouping. I'm looking for someone with time and graffix ability to help me make a really cool MAP.

Here is a basic map:

Image

Here is the legend:

Arizona Charlie’s C1
Bally’s Las Vegas C2
Barbary Coast C3
Bellagio C4
Binion’s Horseshoe C5
Boulder Station C6
Bourbon Street C7
Caesars Palace C8
California Hotel C9
Circus Circus C10
Terriables Hotel C11
Desert Inn C13
El Cortez C14
Excalibur C15
Fiesta C16
Fitzgeralds Holiday Inn C17
Flamingo Hilton C18
Four Queens C19
Fremont C20
Gold Coast C21
Gold Spike C22
Golden Gate C23
Golden Nugget C24
Hard Rock C25
Harrah’s C26
Holiday Inn Casino Boardwalk C27
Imperial Palace C28
Union Plaza C29
Jerry’s Nugget C30
Key Largo C31
Klondike Inn C32
Lady Luck C33
Las Vegas Club C34
Las Vegas Hilton C35
Luxor C36
Mahoney’s Silver Nugget C37
Main Street Station C38
Mandalay Bay C39
Westin C40
MGM Grand C41
Mirage C42
Monte Carlo C43
Nevada Palace C44
New York – New York C45
Palace Station C46
Paris C47
Rio C48
Riviera C49
Sahara C50
Sam’s Town C51
Hooter Hotel C52
Santa Fe C53
Showboat C54
Silverton C55
Stardust C56
Stratosphere C57
Sunset Station C58
Texas Station C59
The New Frontier C60
The Orleans C61
Treasure Island C62
Tropicana C63
Vacation Village C64
Venetian C65
Westward Ho C66
Wild Wild West C67

To connect the casinos I'd like to create 4 or 5 locations on I-15 & I-95 Freeway and then 4 or 5 spots on Las Vegas Monorail.

Like the heliports on the king of the hill map or the warp gate on the space map.

the areas are real small... im not sure you will be able to fit army circles in there.

and on a side note, i think a CCU style of a hotel/casino would be pretty cool.

the idea seems cool, but I think the map is way too tall. Maybe trim some from the top and the bottom then flip it horizontally.

Here is a "very very" rough draft of possible hotel property seperations.

Brown = Station Casinos (The station casions are a continent that is scattered all across the board.)

Yellow = Main St & Ogden
Bright Green = Fremont St
Both together = "Downtown" and get an extra bonus if you have both..

We have 2 more casinos to add. We need to add the "Wynn Las Vegas" just northwest of convention center & West of Las Vegas Blvd. We also need to add "The Palms" south of Flamingo blvd. Just across the street from the Rio.

I agree flipping the map to the right would be fine.. with west pointing up & north to the right. I've pondered that before.

The freeways help connect the casinos on the west with the stations on the west & downtown.

The Monorail rides the east side of the strip and connects the east (the Hilton & Sahara) with the south (MGM & Bally's )

Here is a map of the current monorail and its stops. We dont need to include all the stops just maybe 3 or 4

I thought it would be cool to have this sign or a variation of it on the map.

I really like the idea but i think you should focus on a certain area like fremont street or the strip or something.

Glad you like it. I'll work on expanding the idea and the map layout this weekend and then repost.

My original idea was of all of Las Vegas and its surrounding areas... Alot different though.. What made that idea cool.. I was going to make map points for Hover Dam, Nellis Airforce base, Las Vegas speedway, Nevada Test Site and of course AREA 51. Then inside Las Vegas, all of Downtown was a single property & the strip was just a couple propertys..

But then I came on the casino idea. I really like how 98% of the casinos are correctly represented on this map. It would be a shame to leave any of them off. I think fitting 70 or so casinos on this map is very possible. I'll try and tighten up the map a little this weekend and then repost.

another big map like World 2.1 certainly isn't out of the question. I say include everything you want at first, and then if it doesn't seem to work, then pare it down... or split it into two.

Remember, there is also a tram/cable-car that goes from Mandalay Bay <-> Luxor <-> Excalibur.

this has been discussed before, but after searching it seems the posts were deleted. There was discussion of making it 3-d and to individually illustrate each casino, as otherwise it could be a flat map of anything. If you really want to make it great, it should have the glitz and kitsch of the strip.

There are some gret examples on the web...

http://www.pcap.com/et-map-strip.htm

here's a kinda crappy one, but you get the idea.

Oaktown, those are all three great maps..

I really like this one. Very Nice find.

Its cool how they have downtown separated but still present. We just need to update a few things.. Really this map isnt that old.. only missing "The Wynn" and change "San Remo" to "Hooters"...

It would be cool if someone with a little talent could take the above map & clean it up. The layout and design are almost perfect. It needs to be simplified it in places where its crowded.

Just imagine how much clearer that map would be without the extra junk. Take away the roads, palm trees & dollar rent a car signs and this map would be alot easier to work with.

I really like the map and layout. The light beam shooting out of the Luxor & the mountains in the background really work.
