[Gameplay Idea] - Bonus Concept

I wasn't sure where this should go so I posted it here.

So on most if not all maps the bonus you receive for troops goes up as you take territories. This follows the basic 4X concept of explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate.

However I have been toying with idea of using a bell curve or a curve either linear based (0,1,2,3,4,5)or one based on the Fibonacci sequence of numbers (0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21 - minus the duplicate 1). This would either grant a lower bonus for holding too few/too many or the opposite of granting higher bonus.

This could simulate an opponent becoming more aggressive as they feel backed into a corner or as they grow more powerful. Or the opposite of growing less powerful as they loose territories but also less powerful, possibly complacent as they grow too large.

0 territories = +5
1 territories = +3
2 territories = +2
3 territories = +1
4 territories = +0
5 territories = +1
6 territories = +2
7 territories = +3
8 territories = +5

or

0 territories = +0
1 territories = +1
2 territories = +2
3 territories = +3
4 territories = +5
5 territories = +3
6 territories = +2
7 territories = +1
8 territories = +0

I think that this concept has some merit and would like to see a map that uses this bonus mechanic. I have started work on a map idea that utilizes this but have so much work to do on existing ideas I probably won't get to it anytime soon.

If you think this concept sounds interesting please feel free to comment. If you are interested in incorporating the idea into your own maps, please feel free to contact I would be happy to discuss it in more details.

As an idea, it is OK and easy to code. The only problem would be the wording on the map. Having to explain it would take up a large chunk of space.

Or on a large enough map...
0 territories = +0
1 territories = +1
2 territories = +2
3 territories = +3
4 territories = +5
5 territories = +3
6 territories = +2
7 territories = +1
8 territories = +0
9 territories = +1
10 territories = +2
11 territories = +3
12 territories = +5
13 territories = +3
14 territories = +2
15 territories = +1
16 territories = +0
It could make for interesting game play as players may not take a territ so they don't loose a bonus...
