I believe in you Unit-2. And I think you actually will complete a map soon.
Just download the free trial of photoshop and practice with it. Then if you like it PM me.

come on not again. unit_2 stick to indian ocean and japan map. when you finish those then think of something else. you don't have the graphic skills to make a map but for those 2 (ind oc + jap) you have help from gimil and gnome. while they take care of graphics download photoshop and ask them to teach you

Then you don't know the history behind Unit_2's posts. The kid's got heart & fire, but he posts a new map idea like once a week. He really really wants a map that people embrace, but his graphic skills need a bit of improving before he's going to make it. And he usually abandons his ideas before they evolve into anything.

Unit_2 - seriously, download the photoshop trial and practice it. Your life would be more complete if you understood that software.

This is such good advice I thought it was worth repeating.

I'd love to see all of these ideas turned into maps, but no idea will be a good idea if you don't have the skills and commitment to develop it.

That sucks, i mean i understand the want to make something like this (i got my own ideas ;-) ) because its something that millions of people will use, thousands of times. But the best way is for quality, not quantity (or: better yet, both!).

I wouldnt suggest using photoshop unless he actually plans on buying it because its pretty expensive. I know that there are some cheep ones out there that are almost as good.

after looking around it looks like the real problem is that Unit_2 doesnt actually start the map until his 3rd or 4th update. Then when people dont like some things, he gives up. People will say "yes" to his ideas, because what harm will it do. But they need to see a full map (at least the teritories) before actaully throwing your idea out to everyone.

So yea, go and find some good software  practice  make a map that could potentially make it on the site (i mean that it is finished except for the many complaints that you might recieve. In theory: it should be able to go on the site as soon as the first post is out there, excluding coding...however that works.)

So thats what i picked up after searching around for a little while....i hope im not compeletly wrong!

Tilt it 45 degrees and expand.

Seriously, so-so.

game play looks okay, but there's not much to say about the graphics. And London has 5 votes and DC only has 2, why pick DC?

well, it was just a map that i had, i only used it to sample photo shop.

also, i am letting the poll run for a few days so i can get the most votes.

What the heck

unit_2...if you are going to work on washington...go back to that thread and work on it in there and keep that thread going....it is still alive in this forum. if it was not popular why the heck did you put it in this current poll?

Otherwise...decide from the poll what you are going to do and for goodness sake.....get a map going and keep working on it until it is finished.

I really hate to say this....and people will think that i am absolutely cruel....but i am kind of thinking that it might be a good idea to ban you from this map forum for a couple of months to give you time to concentrate on updating your skills, so that you don't continue wasting people's time with ideas that you appear to have no intention of completing. I can honestly say that everyone has given you very good advice and you will not listen to them. I don't want to recommend that but i am seriously thinking of it. And this is not a threat, only an idea.

I don't think it is a bad idea.

But before you do ban him, give him 2 weeks to NOT post another idea and FOCUS ONLY on ONE map.

If he manages to do that well, a ban is not needed.
