CC Alphabet v2- page2

Ive had this idea stuck in my head forever.....and Switzerland and Archery are moving along slowly....

I figured this would be a fun map because it's relatively small but has a lot of bonuses.
Also, i tried to put in some familiar names into the bonuses for added fun. If i forgot someone, please tell me!

So tell me now, keep it? or forget it?

i like it! :D (even though it doesn't have me in it...)
for names like yeti_c there is no underscore on the map, so why have it on the legend?
MrBenn is 5 and Bryguy is 2, even though there are the same amount of letters in both. how are you deciding what the bonuses are?

and i wanted 15, 10, and 5...so i figured MrBenn could was more seperated than Bryguy. Anything is subject to change of course!

what is more recognizable: yetic or yeti_c? I thought it was best to but in the names in the way they really are, to make them more recognizable. I think its pretty easy to understand anyway.

I just voted no...for the reason this map I'd maybe play once or twice...but probably not again. It feels more like a gimmick map, than a map with any staying power.

I like the idea. The gameplay with the rather random bonuses (to an extent) is very unique and could be fun. That said, while map makers may identify with those names, I doubt the casual player would. I would change to more generic cc terms. Maybe maps or things like "suicide" or "cheat" or "bombard" or "fortify" or "take your feckin turn."

A creative idea, would enjoy playing it.

However, I agree with the above poster - please change vocab to terms that every player can relate to.

Maybe make the terms like suicide multi have a -2 for holding suicide. That would be interesting.

So, to spell a word, you just have to control each letter used in the word to get the bonus/

If that is correct, then if you hold wcaclimbing, then you also automatically would be holding Mibi.

Just rearrange the letters and its all there.
So would that make it so wcaclimbing is a +11 bonus (combines mibi and wcaclimbing bonus)?

I think that is his intent. Another reason to change up the words. Each bonus should be unique.

i didn't vote actually. but yeah, support here. just voted...

I doubt they'll post. The neg people. Even though I don't see the point of voting no if you cannot constructively explain it. At least Andy didn't hide behind the veil.

i voted no. and here's why:
1. keyboard map has the same theme and it's much better
2. too much luck involved. basically whoever goes first wins. in an 8p game each player will have 3 terits. now imagine the target next to you with 3 terits each having 1 army.


PS: #2 could be tweaked and problems could be solved but i'd still vote no because of #1

My Answer to your first reason:
1)Qwerty map is inactive, and the mapmaker is not on CC (as of now), and the gfx were just being started.
2)This only has letters
3)This only has word bonuses
4)This has the +1 thing
5)This is arranged differently

i love the idea - but would only play it once for fun, i cant see myself playing over and over to get good at it then thrash people at it.

it seems like circvs maximvs (not in GP or theme or anyhting) just that it seems like the kind of map that all the new recruits would play 1st off - in the way that loads of new recruits play circvs maximvs...
like in this well known game that a lot of people visited:

i think that the 1st impression is good - but the reality of gameplay isnt

I also voted NO.
because:
1. its kinda confusing to figure out the bonuses. Matching the words against the map seems like it would get kinda tedious for me to do.
2. I don't see it as a strategy game. Most people would probably play it just once, then move on. I don't think many people will be willing to play it over and over again to get good at it. I just don't see much strategy that would reward playing it a lot. Maybe just a game or two for fun, but not a lot.

I don't know. Thats basically why. Good luck if you continue with this.

and i have no idea what font doodle earth used...if you mean the chalky style, that can be done with any font.

spelled it wrong on the map.
I still don't see it working, even with the new names. its a huge amount of luck on the first drop, also.
