This website has it gridded into 9 different sections. When I find out how to recreate it on the internet, ill put it up.. when you click one on of the grid pieces it shows it detailed, too detailed. Im wanting to recreate it not so detailed and separate every piece of the grid into a certain amount of sections.. Kinda like this..
Each grid piece is like a continent.. and in the continent im going to make "countries", im going to make it more detailed than what it first shows and less than when you click on it, and add "pieces in each piece" if that makes sense..
Thought it would be interesting to keep it gridded and make it to where you can only move: up, down, or across. ( like the rook in a chess game) Not diagonal. So obviously the corner grid pieces would have the least amount of borders, the middle would have the most and the others will have inbetween.. the sides on the grid lines are not the borders, it will be bridges, doors, etc...
Not exactly sure what my next step is, or how i know if ppl reply to this so someone please private message me or email me or something. TY

the powerplant is cut in 4, grids 1, 2, 4, and 5. I plan on moving the lines over a little bit so its not cut into 4, unless theres a way to do it like space, whoever has power plant, is the only one to get their bonus, in just grids 1 2 4 and 5. what do you think?

Hmmm...wheres the Monorail? There's nothing on earth like a genuine, bona fide, electrified, six-car Monorail!

This idea was tossed around before, I think in the Map Ideas thread. First and for most, be careful about the legality of using copyrighted materials and names. If there isn't expressed permission from the owners, this map will not make it very far.

hmmm, explain to me the copyright laws then. Its not the same thing if i put all the pieces together, but still gridden by black lines, and then add "countries" in each grid. and add things and get rid of things, so it shouldn't be a problem right?

Using copyrighted names and other such properties can be tricky waters. If you plan on useing specific an accurate names from The Simpsons, I would get in contact with owner's of said properties, and get expressed consent to use any copyrighted materials, names, etc.

Well apparently Photoshop is the best, but it costs money. I use GIMP and find that it works quite well.
http://www.gimphelp.com has some good tutorials and stuff for gimp.

Here's what I am curious about, a site that has ripped off an entire copyright from a game is worried about misusing names and such?

Ok I have emailed Fox (The producers and copyright holders of the simpsons) and am currently waiting for a reply.
Lets just keep our fingers crossed.

You won't get a response. And if you do, it won't be favorable.
Alerting them to the existence of a possible map was a pretty dim idea.

Well, just telling you that you won't get permission to use their material. If they thought there was money to be made off a Simpson's Risk game, then they would have done it.
