Well, with Ireland and Scotland quenched, and Wales being developed, I think England is the next natural step. With the British Isles map, you'd get a nice map pack to compliment the USA maps. The only difference is that each of these maps has a different graphical style.

And don't we have enough England/Britain/British Isles maps already?
Counting the ones in the foundry, how many does that make?

5
but this would be a tournies dream

besides we have the USA map and WM is doing the 6 pack

I like the idea and it could definately make a few nice tourneys. I could even see two brackets-one on the USA set and one on the UK/Ireland set and they meet on either High Seas or New World for the finals.

so i don't wanna sound daft or country-ist or whatever... but there's so many UK maps already....

ireland, wales is in development, scotland, and british isles

not to sound like a spoilsport, but i'm not gonna be sold on this map unless there is some new gameplay twist on it...

and i know wales and scotland are variants on classic, but its not that much different.... and again not to sound too daft, i think that scotland basically looks like its a chunk out of british isles, as is ireland, and even wales to an extent....

Yeah, I have to agree. There doesn't seem much point to an England map just for the sake of it (and I am English myself).
I think one of the problems would be that we don't have a great deal of barriers to separate the counties. I mean the Penines or the the mountains in Cumbria are the best examples I can think of and even so that's stretching it a bit.
Wouldn't it be better to have an England map but based around a historical event - the civil war has yet to be covered (Roundheads Rool OK!) and I don't think I've seen a Wars of the Roses map yet either, or even better, the Roman conquest of England, Boudicea Vs the Legions would be pretty cool - bonuses for Stonehenge and Silbury Hill if you're English. Bonuses for wearing womens clothes and being a massive ponce if you're Roman.

War of the roses is in the draft

See I totally disagree with this. For me the more maps the better and lets be honest here, there are less British Isles maps than there are WWII maps out there. As a TO the more different maps I can find to build a theme around the better things are. I keep wishing South Africa would finish up so we'd have some more African themed maps as well as some more cities. I'd love to see some more from all over the world, the more maps the better, its one of the greatest things about CC IMO. Its also a great excuse to get the kids involved (but honey-I'm teaching them geography)

I think the England map should contain all counties and unitary authorities exactly as they are :)

I would say the continents would be a bit different to how the OP has put them though.
Chesire, Shropshire, Herefordshire and Lincolnshire would probably be part of the yellow, which would be divided into east and west.
Yorkshire would probably be its own continent, and Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire would probably be part of orange.
I think Milton Keynes should be on there.
Yorkshire would potentially take Merseyside and Greater Manchester with it.

London should probably be made a bit special.

Just my ideas :)

okay cena using your map uiv tryed to come up with better conts. The west is the main problem as shropshire, herefordshire and gloucestershire dont really go with the conts.

Image

east Coast like shenyang in greater china, used thames as a border, worth 2?
west country/land end worth 2 again perhaps? maybe 3
yorkshire sorry for colours but i figured colours arent important yet. anyway using w, e, n and central yorkshire to make a bonus of i think 3
east anglia im thinking worth 5
london just a temporary name, but i think that maybe you could hold the others for a 2 bonus, with london it becomes +3
North i think worth +4 as it has 5 borders from 4 terits
Central took out northants which is east anglia and added lancashire. Worth +6 i think.
south east worth 3 maybe 4
west this is hardest, at the moment iv made them their own cont but unless we put up borders its impossible to hold, 8 places can attack it, so i say, as it is, worth 5.

anyway just wanted to try be of some use.

This doesn't make a great deal of sense to people living in east England.
Lincolnshire is not a part of East Anglia at all, and Buckinghamshire is definitely in East Anglia, and three counties radio serves Herts, Beds and Bucks.
I like how you have divided the north of the country and how Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex are different - That is how it is divided for close up on BBC news :)

Edit: Although I disagree with your green continent, it makes sense and I could live with it :)
Double Edit (Sorry!): Oxfordshire wouldn't normally be considered part of the west of East Anglia, but it would work, and is possibly better for the purposes of the game. I think Shropshire and Herefordshire should be part of Yellow, while Gloucestershire could be part of the West Country (what I think is a more sensible name than Land's End)

I would say the regions should be:

North - Northumberland, Cumbria, Durhum, N. Yorkshire, S Yorkshire, E Yorkshire, W Yorkshire

North West - Lancs, Merseyside, Cheshire, Mancs

Borderlands - Shropshire, Herefodshire, Gloustershire

Westcountry - Cornwall, devon, somerset, dorset

East Anglia - Linconshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambs

South - Wiltshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight

Home Counties - Essex, Hertfordshire, Berkshire, Kent, Surrey, Sussex (East), Sussex (West)

Midlands - Staffs, Worcs, Wars, Liecs, Northhants, & the others I haven't mentioned coz I got too lazy

Or...go by this.....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_regions

So this is the official first draft. I will start taking suggestions now and edit as much as I can to satisfy you all whilst keeping to my limits of what I can do

ok as i said earlier:

1) presentation:
COLOURS: the colurs are too bright, im thinking something along the lines of the the flag with thick borders to seperate conts, i just think its an understated look. It was gonna be used on the british isles revamp.
NON PLAYABLE AREAS: Too much detail, they need to be obviously non playable, which they arent now.

Obvs i know you are using paint and its first draft

2) gameplay
Conts: iv outlined my ideas in my last post.
London: should deff start neutral
ISLE OF MAN: is that gonna be included and if so is it only attackable from cumbria or lancashire as well.

not a big fan of the flags myself but Ill see what other people think
NON PLAYABLE AREAS: Too much detail, they need to be obviously non playable, which they arent now.
ok the ones on the map I might take out alltogether
Obvs i know you are using paint and its first draft
Im using fireworks actually

2) gameplay
Conts: iv outlined my ideas in my last post.
I like that. Will play around
London: should deff start neutral
plan on having it as neut
ISLE OF MAN: is that gonna be included and if so is it only attackable from cumbria or lancashire as well.
nope as that would be 44 and that doesnt work to well

my comments are in red
