60 territory map?

I don't really have time to do this myself. actually im just too lazy But I think a 60 territory map might make the game a little more challenging, and then no matter what 3,4,5, or 6 players the map can have all of them without nuetral territories.

Great idea, I may give it a shot. Any suggestions on a map that could accomodate 60 territories? :D :)

People can voice their opinions about it in the thread...where such ideas belong, especially if you don't plan on making it.

Okay but can you keep this thread alive so people can use the poll?

Sure, there are 16 moons around Jupiter. Some are very large, some rather small. There is also 4 rings at varying distances from the Planet.

Picking and choosing, you could create some moons with many areas, and other small ones. I dont know if the rings should be used or not, but they are available if you have connection issues.

That should give you 60 territories easily, even just using north pole, south pole and eastern/western hemispheres.

Your main problem would be in naming areas of the moons, though the major features of the largest are named.

Here's a link to a map with around 60 different areas. I would probably find a different way to splitup the southeast, or make the bonuses far more lucrative, but this is a decent map to play with:

with a little editing a periodic table map could have 60 territories, two elements = a territory, I may give that a shot...

I have an interesting idea--the Chinese Zodiac, as anyone who's eaten at one of their tasty buffets knows, is divided up into 12 animal signs--rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig. What is lesser known in the west is that these animals are further divided up into five elemental varieties: metal, wood, fire, water and earth into a--you guessed it--sixty year cycle. For example, being born in 1975 makes me a wood rabbit! Anyway, I have not the faintest inkling of how to actually make a map, but I think this idea has some cool asian-themed possibilites, perhaps arranged around a yin-yang? For more info (and to see where I got my more specific details) look here:

I'd gladly collaborate with anyone interested in taking this further, thanks!

oh, I forgot to mention that the animals are also grouped together by characteristics they're said to impart to the person born in their year (as you can read about on the wiki page) further lending themselves to being grouped into nice even "continents" ^^

I like that idea. I was born in 1989. What kind of snake would that make me?

There's a chart on that wiki page that shows exactly what everyone is by year, but for you strike wolf, i'll look it up myself ^^

Strike Wolf is the dreaded and evil earth snake--watch out!

yeah, they're bound to be true for somebody :P

I've though of a cool albeit somewhat obvious name for the map:
"The Year of the Conquer Club"

My only problem would be the deal with the continents. Maybe make it like Circus maximus without any?

I'm not sure about that, Circus Maximus doesn't seem to be very popular. I don't think the continents would be hard to come up with at all, the difficult part will be making them interesting due to the extreme balance of the philosophy. Originally I thought of grouping them by element around a yin-yang, but that makes 5 12-territory continents and not very compelling gameplay. If we get real arbitrary we could group them together by some more random means, but I haven't come up with anything yet. Any ideas?
