Conquer the Gods / The Age of Mythology

OK - this map outline combines a whole host of myths with one ultimate objective - to overthrow the Gods.

(N.B. This is a outline only at this stage - please bear in mind before making any graphical comments)

The players' perspective is from amongst the clouds - looking down on the Greek mythical world and underworld, and accross to the Palace of Zeus.

The geography is distorted - akin with the mythological understanding of the world.


Gameplay Overview

Objective - Conquer Zeus' Temple (Zeus, Poseidon & ?)

Players start on the Havens and each have an easy neutral they can take or they can attack a sizeable neutral (typically a mythical creature).

Getting to other players to attack them is tricky - one potential route is through the underworld portals (although the Libya portal should connect to the Grove of Perisphone as the current link could lead to an easy take of Hades' part of the underworld).

Various small bonuses available around the map - including several in the east. Bombardments and an extra route into the far east via Pegasus ensures that these bonuses aren't too easy to hold.

End-Game - Gaining control of Promytheus/The Damned or Kronus/Tartarus enables an army of the dead to be gained (+30) for an assault on the Gods. A large neutral on the fields of punishment will ensure this is hard to get.

Obviously, lots to think about here, especially the neutral values around the map (as the start positions have different tactical options etc.)

Gameplay Adjustments
Neutral values would need to be carefully set to ensure starting positions are relatively equal.

Perhaps, mythical creatures should also be killer neutrals?

Decay on the fleece and/or the belt?

I'm hoping a good carto will be into working on this map with me?
It would be cool if the mythical creatures etc. had icons.
