I've upgraded the Moon Map again, hope you like it:

Vote then post and let me know what you think!

I voted no, because I still wouldn't play this map. I think the asteroid belt, Earth and Mars are unnecessary and just add confusion. If you go ahead with the map, I feel you should focus on the moon itself.
My comments for the moon itself. What are the thick black lines meant to represent? And the white lines where you can cross? I like the new names, and it could be an interesting map, but I feel it needs a lot of work.

Agree with Keyogi.

Keyogi, the black lines mean you can't cross there, it's supposed to make it a little harder to get to your opponent. you guys seem to be the ones coming up with the ideas, give me some detailed ideas for the map if you can. I'm determined to make a map everyone likes... If you don't want to post here, pm me. Thanks, Ka-Zethica

It's just my opinion, but the lines don't make sense to me. It's not like the moon is divided up into continents. Is there any other way you can think of to make impassable borders? I'm not big with the knowledge when it comes to the moon, but what about using craters or canyons and so on as boundary lines?
I know it's completely away from what you've been doing, but what about making a map based on another planet that gives you natural borders or coninents or whatever to work from? It could be entirely fictional.
But again, it's just my opinion. It'd be great if you can get the moon to work right.
Back to the lines, I think you'll need more connectors (the white lines?) between areas. Places like Zoya and Huch could easily have two or three connectors. This would give the effect of countries like Middle East and Ukraine on the Classic Map.

I'm also having trouble with the fact that it's a 3D object with a 2D map placed over it. I actually think that's what's getting me at the moment more than anything else. I think that's why it looks a little odd in my view.

I agree with KEYOGI, it seems somewhat lame to impose 2 dimensions on a 3 dimensional conctruct. As it stands, the map offers nothing new. One might as well draw an oval and divide it up into territories. Also, the earth and mars and the belt are too big to not be used, you should either incorporate them or get rid of them (or make them much smaller)

I got rid of Mars completely and made Earth smaller. The Astroid belt however is used, each Astroid is a territory. I'm currently working to fix the dimension problem, thanks for the tip

Dont like Keyogi's idea about a fictional planet, use the moon. Check out the continent Mordor in the Middle-Earth map. Maybe you could make the different continents different colours and still have the geographical effects the moon has.

My main comment simply has to do with how you are posting new images of the maps.
You have created several threads and appeared to simply change your first post with the last update.
Please DON'T do that. Keep all the discussion and updates in a single thread, and post a new image for each update so people can actually see what has changed and the progress that the map has made. Without that, there is no way for people to help you in constructing this map, especially if they haven't been following along from day 1.
Also the site you are using to host the images is extremely slow, which I think will reduce peoples interest in this map's progress. Try using a different hosting site, such as imageshack.us and putting each image directly in this thread. It makes it easier for each foundry member to follow along.

Thanks for the tip, i'm almost done with the newest map which i will post here
Newest map is @:
http://mysite.verizon.net/mason.hiky_m/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/end_moon_map2.jpg The colors ran together a bit because i had to save it under jpeg, but if i do publish it or whatever i can fix that.
Post and tell me what you think!

I like the position of Earth, but you really need to look at mordor on Middle-Earth to get the continents right, you can't just have different coloured borders. Also the map of the moon you are using isnt to great.

I like the map, because it is something new among the rest of the maps.
Only I think its not finest yet. I don't like the continent and territory lines on the Moon.
I like the Astroid Belt, but let it not only connect with Terryschmidt to the Moon. You can also connect With Bali.
Its a pity that the Astroid Belt is gone in you're second map. And I liked the "2D-picture" of the earth and Mars.
The second map I don't like.
But thats'mine opinion about the map of the Moon.

I can't clearly see what's going on with the new map. As gavin pointed out, you can't just have coloured borders, you need to colour the actual territories themselves.
Also, what program are you using to make your maps?

Lol, i'm using the paint program that's automatically installed on your computer when you get it. But i think i'm doing ok with it. I've got a new idea, but this will probably be my last version, I'll have some sort of poll and see who likes what map the best. I'm going to try to color the actual territory, but just using the pain program, its hard. I might not be able to keep the moon texture. I can't install other programs to make the map because they are all blocked from my computer...(I've tried)
Also, i'm going to re-add the Astroid Belt as alot of people are complaining about it not being in the newest map, but i'm going to make the territories bigger so theres not as many. I'll post the new map here once i'm done with it.
I'll save and post it 2 ways, jpeg and bmp. Bmp is more detailed, but takes longer to load and Jpeg is quicker to load, but it has poor quality.

I'll save it again under Bmp so you can see it more clearly, but it'll take longer to load.

Newest edition: *Warning* This may take a minute or two to load.

It pretty much looks the same as the last one, but i put the stats on there. I personally think this is the best one and i might try to get it on the site.
What do you think?
I Also need some one to help me out with the coding or watever you call it lol, i'm not very good at the kinda stuff. If your interested in helping, PM me on here. (You'll get credit for helping make the map)
Thanks, Ka-Zethica

Have you downloaded NASA World Wind?
http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/
It is a google earth type program, click on file and you can change to moon, jupiter and other planets. Looking at it, your naming system seems wrong.

This map is no where near ready to be placed on the site. If you look through any of the other threads where maps have been developed, its a long process, and will take a lot of updates and revisions on your part.
As for the current state of the map- I understand that you said you can only use MS Paint. And if that is true I would suggest you abandon this devlopement because the graphics of the map look extremely unproffessional. If you choose to continue using paint you will never be able to create a great map, AND you will make things much harder for yourself.
If you are willing to put the time and energy forward to make this map work, then don't abandon it. But you aren't going to be able to do it in Paint, and you aren't going to be able to make 2 or 3 minor revisions and call it finished.

1. I don't have an Imageshack account.
2. I can't us anything other than paint.
3. i apparently suck at this map maknig, so i have no choice but to forget it.
It seems no matter what i add/edit, some one is never happy.
If any one wants to try and make this map better or create it themselves, feel free. *Fair warning* Its hard and stressfull...

1. Have you thought about getting an imageshack account?
2. Have you thought about downloading a different program?
3. If everyone gave up making maps as quickly as you have, we'd have no maps.
Maybe choose something different to make. Check the *free to a good home* thread.
You may not suck at map making. I think you chose quite a hard thing to make a map of.
