Actually ALV is counted in Iberia since the people there speak Spanish more than French. And thank you for your suggestions and they are really helpful! Maybe in the next update I will add a route from Barcelona or Andorra La Ville to some cities in Italy.

How about an attack route from Barcelona to Naples. That should help with the bottle neck. There is one concern I see IMHO, and that is the Capital City part of the legend, it is hard to read on the small map. Maybe increase the font size up by one, maybe two at the most. I like the idea of the 3 letter airport codes for the cities =D> .

That's all I see, keep up the good work!

Thank you for all of your suggestions, I will consider them and make my next update. However I think that I still need more ideas, so can anybody help? Thank you very much.

Hi Scania N113,

You have a good idea here, But firstly with the harsh criticism...

I have to say though that the current graphics for this map are not up to CC's usual high standard. You're going to need to practise a little. What graphics program are you using to edit this?
I don't like the 8 bit graphics, it makes it look cheap and tacky. It has no relevance to the idea, if you were doing a computer game map then fine, but this is not.
It looks like you've taken a normal map and coloured it in, this is also what is dragging the map down in terms of graphics, fire up your editor and practise on something, maybe make a banner advertising your map! Practise and learn everything your editor(and you) can do.

Now for the not so harsh constructive criticism.
A few things I've noticed at first glance on this map.

Text - Awful, sorry but it is. Much harder to read on the smaller map
Text - Boring, again. Play around and try and liven it up a little. make the title jump out at you!
Legend - You have written: All regional capitals is +3 and All capitals in the region +2.........What's the difference? It sounds like the same bonus. Can you define it a little more.
Country borders - Horrible and out of place. Especially in Western Slavic

I think this is enough to get you started...

Thank you for all of your ideas, I will surely improve the map. Now I can put more effort on this map because my another project was handed over the other members in the group Map Makers Guild. I hope that the next update can come in one week.

The map looks good. Although a very big mistake is in it. Don't put the Benelux cities into Germany, that is incorrect! You should or create a separate Continent called Benelux or rename Germany! I can imagine with me a lot of Dutch and Belgium players don't like it that their Capitals are put into the Germany continent.

Same here for me...... Its impossible that we (Belgium & Netherland) are 1 continent with Germany and named : Germany. Its impossible to do that.

Its the same as we create a North-America map with Mexico & USA together and call that Continent: Mexico..... I don't think any American citizen would appreciate that

Also for me, please changed the Continent name or make a separate one for Belgium, Netherlands & Luxembourg and called it BeNeLux or Low Lands.

By the way, I like your idead of European Cities map =D>
GL further to work this out.

It's true, calling a big area like that all 'Germany' would be wrong, i know changing territs is more work then changing 1 name.
Maybe you could change the name of 'Germany' into 'middle europa'
'European heart' would suits fine too :D

My grandfather just had a heartattack , just after he looked at this map and he thought he was fighting in WWII again. Please, Don't put The Netherlands in Germany.

Two options
1* create a separate Benelux
2* rename Germany into i.e middle europe.

Thanks sofar, A proud Dutchman, Chevy

Did someone just post this in the Benelux forums?! That's a lot of sudden support from one specific group!

Don't worry too much about graphics at this stage, because you need to develop the gameplay first. I agree with some earlier posts that your bonus regions are pretty hard to hold at the moment. But don't just reduce the number of territories, because we have plenty of maps in the 42 territory range. Instead, increase the number of bonus regions and keep about the same number of cities. Maps with lots of relatively easy bonuses are a lot of fun because there are many good places to start!

So Benelux would be a good region to add. I would also definitely split up Scandinavia into Finland/Sweden/Norway. Even some small regions like Portugal or Greece could be split off. Then you should look into dividing up Russia in some way because it is currently a pretty massive region.

woot!
more benelux territs we can hold!
and yes, its a common failure that when we see the" hey is amsterdam not the capital of germany: BOO bandwagon we benelux people like to ride.. Although i think each person above me had a valid point. Its just that most of use do read all the posts, but the really interesting ones, we give a quicklink to our members to read.. The responding to it is entirely our own fault

Scania, good start with this one also.
1. The balck text is almost illegible in the legend and some CAPS for capitals.
2. i can hardly discern the white around the Warsaw ring
3, Can't read what the yellow ring around SBX? is supposed to respresent
4. the line between Rome and Naples,,,i had to look really hard to find it,,,perhaps move it north or south of the coastline there
5. i know you've done the geopgrahic layout probably almost to scale. But as with my Rail Europe map, in order to get everything in the map and have and enough eye-real estate between stuff to make the map look good, i had to consider expanding the map itself within the frame...perhaps with this grab the left edges and move them left into some of that real estate thta the legend is not using so well. The map will still look like Europe is will simeply be more wider than taller. :) Adn this will give you enough space to relay the text for good spacing.
6. for design, i would look at adding some of the more and lesser known icons of the capitals and incorporating them into the edges with appropriate frame work.
7. also consider moving some of the legend into that large space above MOW and using that wisely.
See how you might like some of that, and i'll look in again later and see how you're going. :)
Keep up the good work.

The green colour for Yugoslavia's words is unreadable on the blue water background. Either change the colour of the text, background, or add some glow/shadow effect to the text there.

Since the World Cities map was(is) a clone of the original gameplay of the Classic map, I think a way to go here would be to look at another time honored version of our... beloved game:

image

Some aspects can't be replicated because of the different cards involved.

Image

Other aspects such as choosing a capital and if taken you automatically lose isn't possible in the current XML. This map is also originally a Napoleonic era map and there is already a map of that in the drafting room. Obviously gameplay for this can't be the same, but you can try to implement as much as possible and setup territory connections similarly to the above map, and it gives you a good basic layout to build from.

It would appear that development of this map has stalled. If the mapmaker wants to continue with the map, then one of the Foundry Moderators will be able to help put the thread back into the Foundry system, after an update has been made. ;-)
