No. There is, wouldn't you guess it, an unanticipated bug. The Free Speed Games update caused issues with the scripting for designating free Maps/Tournaments for free members. I have expedited this as the first thing to be fixed since we have more events coming soon. Apologies,

so a non premium member can not win a medal this St. Pattys day ?

You absolutely can win one! The [Official] Irish Assassin Tournament is open to freemium players as well as premium players! (as long as you keep 1 slot open for tourney games)

Also, on a suggestion from rds, I will be starting several FREEMIUM-ONLY Official Event Games with a variety of settings on the St. Patrick's Day map!
The player who wins the largest number of these games will also receive a General Achievement Medal!
See the first post of the event thread for more information!

sounds good except we only get 1 slot, in a speed game you will get that slot and can join other quickly. This means most of us will only get to play in 1 or 2 games.

It seems like the games for us free members would be much better if it was possible to join them outside of the 4 game limit...

I know that the slots are filled up, and I greatly apologize. It certainly was not my intention, even though that does not change our circumstance! Best of luck to you in the games that you can manage playing.

So... I've been sitting in this game: 12506834 and no ones joined. Am I doing something wrong?

no, i predict maybe 1 game will start because free players will probably not have slots to kill

rds, I apologize if I'm stepping on your toes or anyone else's, but I stated in the first post of this thread that the map would be open until the end of the day on March 23rd, and I will not be made a liar.
The map has been reopened.

As far as who is in the lead, I have not been keeping track, and there are already almost 10 full pages of finished games, so counting them all up will take time that I do not have right now.
I will try to get you a count sometime tomorrow, but you may have to wait until the map closes again on Sunday.

so how long will the speed games count towards the general achievement medal? because it says those only run through the 19th, which we just passed.

Whoops! That's my mistake - I meant to give you 3 days - the 17th, 18th, and 19th. Fixed now.

Staying open until the 23rd is perfectly fine with me! :). I believe then, that there's been a typo, though, as I accidentally missed the first notice and saw this under speed games:

CC Time: 2012-3-20 00:00:00!

No toes here! ;) Have continued fun on the map, guys!

Nope, there's no typo now - I meant it to be the 20th from the start, but made a mistake when I originally posted the thread, and fixed it after you posted.
I think we're all good here now, yes?

So, there was some confusion about when midnight CC Time actually fell. I, among others - including RiskDominance, had thought it fell at midnight Eastern Standard Time, but some of my fellow CCers, including KingRat, believed it to fall at midnight Eastern Daylight Time - one hour earlier. This led KingRat, who had the lead in Speed Games won at midnight EDT to stop playing, believing he had won and allowing RiskDominance, who thought there was still an hour left, to keep playing and overtake him in the next hour.

For the record, I have confirmed with rds that KingRat was, in fact, correct - during Daylight Savings Time, CC Time is Eastern Daylight Time.
The times you see in your Game Logs, on wall posts, in the forums, etc. are separate from CC Time - those are in reference to the timezone you are in, which you can change in your Control Panel, under "Board Preferences" - they change when you change your timezone, but not when CC Time changes.

In fairness to the two of these players, I will award a GA Medal to the four players (including KR and RD) who won over 100 Speed Games during the 3 days of the event (whichever definition is used for CC Time), in recognition of what is truly an outstanding achievement - especially when you consider that no other player won more than 65 Speed Games during this period.

In other news, the Saint Patrick's Day map is now closed.

Best,
sempai
