That would be a good reason in my mind. I just find the gloating of the "haters" distasteful.

To mph, I don't use foul language on this site, nor do I think foul language equates to something being funny. Perhaps a ban on using foul language in forums would be more applicable, though hard to enforce admittedly.

A reasonable, logical thought.

Reasonable, logical, probably inevitable, but hopefully after I am dead.

That would actually make sense assuming that, from a business standpoint, CC is being looked at as a continuum. Although, what happens when a child logs in and up pops a giant add for Vagisil?... Dunt Dunt Daaaaaaah!

It's only paranoid if you presume this is a bad thing. I don't happen to.

I prefer paying premium to having bundles of popup ads cluttering my screen. So I hope that one gets chucked out the window with alacrity!

Hooray! Another forum change that won't affect my overall enjoyment of the site in the slightest.
A bold move, and one that might prove to be significant.

Lack has most always disliked advertisements. I don't see this changing in the future. :)

A good move IMO and tbh it doesn't seem that many people care. The way they removed it while slightly underhand was clever, people thought it was a joke and then slowly realised it wasn't. Had they announced "in 24 hours we are going to remove flame wars", then there would have been a million flames about it everyone would have kicked up a fuss and it would have been a mess.
