I think Oregon has secured a victory even though only 3 games are finished (won in 6, 6, and 7). Don't think there is anyway Maryland can come back and win.

Butler survives a scare from Marist. They unofficially won their second round match-up 77-71 to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. It's the second straight Sweet Sixteen for Coach VOL, who took Gonzaga to the Sweet Sixteen last year.

Am I allowed to pick what map I have as the star shooter / pick what map to replace with the sharp shooter in the next round(s)?

Yes, you can switch your power-ups between rounds...I'll send a reminder to all Sweet 16 coaches before sending out that batch of games...but yes, just pm me with where you want them if you know.

So far we have 6 of the spots filled for the Sweet 16...
South -- #4 North Carolina
Northeast -- #5 Butler, #6 Clemson and #16 Virginia Tech
Midwest -- #2 Toledo
West -- #1 Oregon

Looks like Ill take the play-in game over UTEP, even though playing Arms Race twice not exactly a walk in the park. Bring on that #1 seed!!!

Fresno State bows out of the NIT after a second-round loss to Brown. Fresno State has announced that coach AmphibiousRodent will step down and take another position in the athletic department.

That position? Head football coach. That's right, I'm planning a college football tournament using many of the same concepts Flex has refined in this one. Look for it in August.

thanks all...it's a fun one...I really liked how all the new twists came into play this year, so expect a similar format for next season.

During the off-season, I'm going to try and round up historic results. I know quite a few coaches have been with this one since its inception four years ago :)

I also have a couple other tourney ideas bubbling up here next month...so keep a watch in the threads.

Brackets update with a new Sweet 16 bracket that shows the late rounds of the tourney coming together. All available Sweet 16 matchups (three of them) have been sent out...other matchups are getting close to being started. We even have our first overtime game between #13 Louisville and #5 Purdue.

We have five of the eight Sweet 16 matches set...congrats to Marquette on a close two-point win in the second round. Also kudos to #2 Toledo (TheCrown) and #5 Butler (ViperOverLord) on being the first teams into the Elite 8.

moved the NIT link to underneath the Sweet 16 bracket...seemed easier to find there. By the way, my Oregon State Beavers at the first to reach the semifinals of that consolation tourney :)
