				Boxing Champions League [WINNER: denominator]

A knockout (winning in or before the scheduled rounds for your fight) immediately ends the bout and no more maps will be played.
Also, not the prize money allocation...A knockout gives the winner the entire purse, while a decision results in a split of the $$$ depending on whether it's a unanimous or a split decision...a lot of this will make more sense after we get through Week 1.
Please try to join quickly, so we can start new bouts on a weekly basis.

Here is a list of the full rules and the players...
Hello, I'm setting up an 18-person tournament to mimic the boxing (fighting) world...so sign-up as your favorite fighter from the past or your top boxer from the current ranks...no duplicates please...
OPEN TO ALL PLAYERS...PREMIUM AND FREEMIUM
I AM STILL LOOKING FOR 5-6 MORE RESERVES FOR THIS TOURNEY.
Rules are below...
Season play:
18 fighters will battle through 12 regular-season matches before entering the championship tournament. The league will be divided into the North American rankings and the European rankings with nine boxers in each division.
Championship:
The top “prize-money” winner in each division will sit back and wait for a challenger, which will be determined by an eight-boxer survival bracket. The bracket winner will take on the “prize-money” winner in 12-round North American and 12-round European championship bouts.
• The Boxing tournament champion will be determined in a final 12-round bout between the North American champion and the European champion.
How it will work:
All matches are 1 vs. 1 with the potential of a best 2-of-3 format in each bout. Matches are scheduled for 6, 8, 10 or 12 rounds.
Going the distance:
Each battle will represent one of the judges scorecards, so win 2 out of 3 and you have the victory (split decision). If you win the first two maps it will be considered a unanimous decision and a third battle won’t be necessary. To score a decision each battle must go the full allotment of scheduled rounds.
Scoring a knockout:
A knockout is scored any time a map is conquered within the scheduled rounds. If you are fighting an 8-round bout, a knockout would be counted if you eliminated your opponent within 8 rounds. A knockout immediately ends the match and over-rules any of the judges’ scorecards.
Prize money:
Our rankings will be built by the accumulation of fictional “prize money” with knockouts earning all of the purse, while judges decisions will earn a percentage of the purse with a small amount going to the loser. (more details once we have sign-ups)
Game play:
I plan to have each boxer fight one bout per week, so this league will run for about three months. The first battle will be played on the map of the higher ranking boxer, the second battle on the underdog’s map, and the third battle (if necessary) will be on Classic, adjacent, flat.
Any questions feel free to get in touch…
Team selection:
I would prefer if the USA division was made up of CC members from the U.S. and the same for the International division.
When you sign up feel free to adopt a favorite current of former fighter or you can simply use your CC name if you’d prefer. I will also need your preferred map and settings…(map, cards, forts, fog?)
For better 1 vs. 1 play...Prohibited maps are Doodle Earth, Age of Realms (either one), Crossword, Valley of Kings and Pearl Harbor.
CLASSIC IS ALSO PROHIBITED FOR THIS TOURNEY BECAUSE IT IS USED AS THE TIEBREAKER IN MATCHES THAT GO TO THE JUDGES...

Only because you are running such a great college hoops tourney flex, I will join this one.
I'd love to be Rocky Balboa, but since he's fictional I'll understand if you won't give him to me. If not, I'll be George Chuvalo.

The United States division is now full...but I will open up the International Division to anyone until it gets filled up. Players may move around a bit once we get the full 20...just so that we don't have too many of the same maps on one side or the other.

This sounds interesting, I'll take a spot if any are still open.
I will fight as Tommy Hearns, who lost to Sugar Ray in The Showdown (an epic fight) in 1981 ("You're blowing it, son, you're blowing it!"), but then beat Leonard in their second bout in 1989 even though the judges mistakenly declared it a draw.
