Introduction:
The year is 2734 and despite the amazing technological and medical advances the world has experienced, a violent plague erupted across the world 15 years previously. Within weeks, the entire global population was decimated, except for in one place: Ireland. Due to the incredibly strong genetics of the Irish, they were immune to the effects of the plague and are now secluded on their small island where for reasons unexplainable the plague cannot reach.
They have lived in peace for 15 years since the plague first hit, but now there is trouble brewing. Top scientists have discovered the key to why the Irish are immune, but at a cost: They also discovered that the gene responsible for their immunity is weakening as time goes by.
A cure for this weakening has been discovered, but must be grown in the living blood of a select few who have the purest of the Irish blood flowing in their veins. These select few are known as the Protectors. Now the scientists want to keep the secret for themselves, allowing all others to perish over time and leaving them with the entire island of Ireland for themselves. The Protectors don't believe this to be a wise course of action and have gone into hiding to escape the control of the Scientists until the cure has reached maturity in their veins. They have started a revolution amongst the Irish, but if the Scientists find them first all hope will be lost for the remaining Irish citizens.
Pick your side, fight for the Scientists or the Protectors in a battle waged across the island of Ireland.
Details:
All games will be played on the Ireland map, with settings of: 5-players, Terminator, Sequential, Flat Rate, and Chained.
Scoring:
A player will receive 1 point for each elimination of an opponent and an extra 2 bonus points for each overall win. No eliminations or wins past Round 40 in any game will be counted.
Also, 50% of earned bonus points will carry over to the next round if the player qualifies.
First Round:
All players are randomly assigned to 10 games for the First Round. The games will be played in sets of 4, 3, and 3, with each set being created when the previous set only has a couple of games remaining. The top 15 players in the standings will advance to the Second Round.
Second Round:
All players are randomly assigned to 10 games for the Second Round. The games will be played in sets of 4, 3, and 3, with each set being created when the previous set only has a couple of games remaining. The top 5 players in the standings will advance to the Final Round.
Final Round:
The 5 qualifying players will play 10 games in sets of 4, 3, and 3, with each set being created when the previous set is down to only a few games. The player with the most points at the completion of the round will be declared the champion.
Signing Up:
Players will sign up to represent either the Protectors or the Scientists. You must state which side you wish to fight for when you sign up. If not, I will choose for you. Whichever side wins will determine the fate of Ireland.
