This is a Tournament Players Association Year 3 (TPA3) event, and is governed by its rules, guidelines, and judgments which are detailed at http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=89&t=175675.
All are welcome to join and participate in the association. You need do nothing more than join one or more of the TPA3 events that will be announced each Monday. Check back on the scoreboard to see how you're doing:

(This Premier tournament was originally scheduled to be posted on October 8th. I apologise for the delay; real life has thrown me a few curve balls. I hope that your enjoyment of this tournament will soon cause you to forget the initial delay.)

Salient Assassinations In History

Game Load and Format: 1 game will begin every week for 18 weeks. We will not wait for games to end before starting subsequent games; only premium players may participate due to the possibility of many simultaneous games. If you miss two consecutive invites in a single round, the game will be re-made without you and you will lose your right to compete in that round. However, if your score remains positive (see Scoring below) and you communicate a reasonable explanation for your miss, you may still be re-admitted to compete in subsequent rounds.

Game Settings: All games will be Assassin, with Automatic Deployment, Sequential Turns, Chained Reinforcements, a 30 round limit and No Trench.
Spoils and Fog Status vary as indicated below.
The target is to make games 6-player whenever possible; it will however be necessary to sometimes make 5- or 7- player games to balance the numbers, and it is even conceivable that in the later stages a few 4-player games will sneak in.

Scoring: All players will begin with 5 points, and score additional points as follows:
show: points
show: elimination

John Lennon 1980 --- NYC, Sun, Escalating
Anwar Sadat 1981 --- Middle East, Sun, Flat Rate
Alexander Litvinenko 2006 --- London, Fog, Escalating

Because this is a Premier TPA3 event, my target is to have at least 100 people. However, I'm willing to go forward with as few as 72 and probably could handle close to 200. As stated, the target is for all games to be 6-player but I will use 5- and 7- player games as needed to balance the numbers.

8-)

In please....

I noticed you say elimination will occur if at any time our points are negative... Does that mean we can continue if our points reach 0, but not negative?

Yes, just like in Dungeons and Dragons, at 0 hitpoints you're still hanging on...:)

I have made a minor tweak to the rules.

Losing by unavoidably killing the wrong target (such as if you have 5 cards in a Nuclear game, and those cards kill the player) -- minus 2 points rule removed as unenforceable

This special rule seemed like a great idea at the time, but I realized later that it's not enforceable. The game doesn't display your cards to others, so if you have 5 cards there's no way to prove that the set you cashed was the only possible set.
