The Random Battles II [Winner - overlander]
Posted: Thu Apr 04, 2013 9:31 pmHi there all! This one will be the second version of "The Random Battles" series. I'd like to modify a little bit the tournament structure in this one, but not much.
First of all, the usual notification that all freemiums are welcome as long as they leave one slot open.
So... in this tournament, there will be three phases, all games played in random maps:
Phase One: Four 8-player groups. Four rounds of 8-player games. Top four players in each group advance to the next phase.* If two or more players are tied in points at the end of the group phase, a playoff game will be played between them.
Phase Two: Four 4-player groups. Three rounds of 1vs1 games. Top two in each group advance to the quarter finals. One point per victory, zero per defeat. If TWO players are tied in points at the end of the group phase, the winner of the game between them gets the advantage. If MORE THAN TWO players are tied in points at the end of the group phase, there will be a playoff game played between them.
And, of course, the elimination phase:
Quarter Final: Four 1vs1 games. Winners advance to the semis.
Semi Final: Two 1vs1 games. Winners advance to the final.
Final: 1vs1 game. Winner takes it all.

Players will be seeded in the groups in Phase One using http://www.random.org
Reserve policy:
- In the first game, i will send an invitation. If it's not accepted, I will send another one. If the second is not accepted as well, the player(s) at stake will be eliminated from the tournament and replaced by a reserve.
- If there are no reserves left, the tournament will carry on without the player at stake.
- In the games after the first, i will send an invitation. If it's not accepted, I will send another one. If the second is not accepted as well, the player(s) at stake will get zero points for the game but continue to play the tournament.
