Apparently it happened just today, thousands are feared dead. It sounds very serious and quite tragic.

First AIDS, then pathetic leadership, limited resources, and now this.

What an ass-kicking from God.

I have and I will.

If you can help Red Cross, please do that as well.

The death toll may well be in the tens of thousands. Truly a terrible event.

Giving to causes and charities is extremely easy now---with "texting donations" and online websites---I hope it all helps.

Yeah, a couple of us at work pooled some money together to send to them. Praying is nice, but it's better to accompany it with some action.

We'll have to wait a bit before we know.

I doubt they'd be online. They're either incapable of getting online or have better things to do than play risk right now.

Well, yeah.

A. I was thinking maybe some of their friends might know if they were safe

B. Maybe there would be a way for the CC community to rally around them.

that would be noble. we could all buy premium for a special account called disaster relief, and all the money would go to the victims. CC, this would make you look good. you could donate to The Red Cross, or some other organisation.

I could get behind that. Maybe offer a special medal or something to people who contribute (if that would help push people, I don't really care).

For religious people, this is the undeniable prove that God is not around, or if exists, is evil.

For the rest of us, it's tectonic plates moving.

My condolences to all the people suffering in Haiti.

Like what's-his-face... the crazy evangelical that was talking about how the Haitians made a deal with the devil back in the 19th century to escape the French (and thus, are being punished). Not Falwell, the other jackass.

haiti is notorious for voodoo. i doubt god is overly keen on voodoo.

i seen a pic of a man bawling his eyes out whilst holding his baby daughters body. you could almost feel his pain.

Pat Robertson.

Who seems to overlook all of the Christians living there and missions work carried out regularly.

When I hear jackass comments like that, it reminds me of the passage in scripture in the book of James that talks about how anyone who wants to be a "teacher" (of Christianity) must be extra careful in their actions and statements since they will be judged doubly by the Lord on the day of judgment.

Like that piece of shit Falwell saying that 9/11 was God's judgment against the USA. I can't tell you the rage that fueled inside me. So God was judging me? God was exerting his wrath against me, just because I was faithfully going to work? God executed my friends that day as judgment against the actions of other people?

Didn't they have a civil war as well recently?

Tough break for all the Haitians, having so many shitty stuff in such a short space fo time. Feel really bad for the UN deaths though as they were there to actually help people out.

God is around, it is that if you want Him to show His face in everything thing be thankful that HE isn't a God of telling you where you can work, how to act, ordering you to worship Him, who you can marry, what kind of car to drive, where to live, what to eat ... should I go on? God allows things to happen based on what's in our hearts/minds. Personally He wouldn't be a God, He would be a total dictator whereas you would not have the freedoms you have to do what you want to do.

My condolences to all the people suffering in Haiti.

My condolences as well, and a hearty support to all people who are going there to help.
