My opinion of either god or God does not match any of your options.

Yes... there is a difference between a god and God.

Obviously the notion of The God is a false one created by the ruling elite to control the working classes.

THAT SAID, people who proactively trumpet this fact just to get a rise out of theists are not self-assured of their own atheism and non-belief. It is a psychological truism that these people are seeking affirmation of their non-belief in the form of an irrational argument they hope to be peddled by theists.

Only a true, logically confirmed atheist would let sleeping dogs lay. The person who pokes the dog with a stick is confused and befuddled on questions of life and existence. This is also, often, symptomatic of suppressed suicidal ideation.

So of course, you chose the option "God is just the personification of stupid people trying desperately to justify existance."

I chose not to participate for reasons stated above. I feel assured of the logic of non-theism and don't need to provoke incendiary threads with theists to assuage subconscious doubts.

Well, I hardly find "incendiary" the content of the thread. I also think that every belief can be adjusted to one of the option.

To be clear about it, Imagine this: A two-dimensional grid, one axis of which measures a "moral" continuum between good and evil, and the other "ethical" between law and chaos, with a middle ground of "neutrality" on both axes for those who are indifferent, committed to balance, or lacking the capacity to judge. So. the nine possible options are the different positions in that grid. Got it?

Anyhow, if your belief are that is incendiary to even Ask how do you feel about God, well, I consider such behaviour like fanaticism. Not desirable at all If i may say

No.

None of your options comes anywhere near my view on the subject.

First I believe I believe there may be a god of some sort.

Not God for sure.

that's just a start... not worth going into it much deeper though with someone who posts 3 basic options across 10 lines.

You try harder to think real options. :)

Hahaha, awesome.
It always bothers me a little bit when I see that avatar.
However, I always realize that it's just an animation and not a real ant.

I suppose there isn't really a point of making theists believe that there is no god other than to liberate themselves of some idealism that is founded based on ignorance. But as long as they don't bother us, it doesn't matter.
That's what you're saying, rite?

And no, I would argue that the origins of a god did not come from the elites trying to control the working class, rather, the idea spawned from the need to know/fear of what happens when we die, why we're here, etc.
Organized religion... maybe, but I don't think there's solid evidence that the original reason for it was to control the working class at the time.
Did it become that way? Possibly. Not quite the working class in the case of the crusades, but still, organized religion showed its ugly side then and there.

The reason why I try to get a rise in theists is so that they may join me in my belief one day. Key word: may.
I really would like to move on from this so I could get to thinking about something more productive.
