I wasn't being racist. I was being countryist. THERE'S A DIFFERENCE.
Army of GOD wrote:He's not a douche. He did exactly what any of us would've done. Cleavland had their chance, for 7 God damned years. The best player they ever got to compliment LeBron was get Shaq last year. Freaking morons...the fans shouldn't be mad at LeBron, they should be asking for the Cavs's GM's head (no clue who he is but he clearly doesn't know how to build a team around one of the best players ever).
I've always liked Wade, and Bosh being my favorite player on my now-tied-for-favorite team...they're guaranteed a championship.

Then you're in the wrong thread, mate.
Army of GOD wrote:Why the Hell was I holding my breath when you said what team you were going to?
The Raptors weren't even a choice!
But I think I can safely say that the Heat are my new favorite team because Bosh is with them now and he was my favorite player up until now!
GO HEAT!

It's not so much that he changed teams, tho that is a fanbase that's had more than its share of heartache.
It's that he made such a big production out of it: talking about it for years, doing a bunch of interviews right in the middle of the NBA Finals (a trick that people absolutely ripped A-Rod for when his agent pulled the same shit a few years ago), having NBA owners come kiss the ring in Cleveland, that appalling spectacle tonight (which was just wrong on so many levels that my brain's about to explode, but there's something just wrong about telling several million people to go f*ck themselves on national TV).
The Heat's defense will be lousy
it'll take awhile for lebron/wade/bosh to gel, all three will have to play huge minutes (I put the over/under on Wade's games played next season at 55), and their best-case scenario is getting murdered by the Lakers in the finals.
btw, if you haven't read Dan Gilbert's rant, it's a thing of beauty.

Army of GOD wrote:I see no problem with this. I guess it's just a matter of taste. If he has the ability to be more important than the Finals, then f*ck, he is more important than the Finals. I wonder what the ratings were for this "special"...I would think they were pretty high. And he did not tell them to go f*ck themselves...are you kidding? He did the exact opposite.
Army of GOD wrote:I hope you're either kidding or drunk. Wade and LeBron were both on the all-defensive team. Bosh is an amazing defensive power forward too. They'll arguably have the BEST defense next year...
Army of GOD wrote:Ok. This is how I look at it. Let's take LeBron. A faster, more explosive and better at defense Pierce. Wade? A younger, more consistent shooter who can do more than "just shoot", and a better defensive Ray Allen. And Bosh. A younger, faster, more versatile and better scoring Garnett. If Chalmers plays like Rondo did when the Celtics won it all (aka DON'T f*ck UP), then I think they have a huge chance at winning next year.
Army of GOD wrote:Just did. As I said, THEY HAD THEIR CHANCE. THEY FUCKED UP. THEY SUCKED. Don't you dare say LeBron "betrayed" Cleavland. They're lucky that had him for so long. He owes NOTHING to them. ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY NOTHING. If it wasn't for him, they wouldn't even be in the Playoffs.
Gilbert has a dick in his ass and sand in his vagina. He is butthurt and KNOWS that the Cavs have NO CHANCE...especially considering they're going to come up empty in this free agency.
Incandenza wrote:That's the thing, tho. It takes a special kind of egomaniac to try and upstage the NBA Finals after stinking up the joint two weeks earlier. Hell, if I'd been Lebron, I'd've spent the finals in a gym, working on my outside shot, rather than yukkin' it up with Larry King. And for the record, some lame platitudes don't change the fact that he did, in fact, tell Cleveland fans to go f*ck themselves on national TV. He's perfectly within his right to leave, but my god, did he have to make such a spectacle of it? Imagine your girlfriend dumping you on national TV, and then copulating with her new Italian porn star boyfriend right there on camera. That's pretty much what happened.
Well, Wade was second-team, but you'll notice that basketball is a team game. There's not much in the way of rebounding on that team, Bosh is somewhat less than elite defensively, and I don't really see much in the way of a grinder mentality there that the best defensive teams have, like Boston. (actually, this is going to become a bit of a theme... I can't believe you're putting me in a position to defend the fucking celtics)
Um, Miami is a bit size-deficient when it comes to the frontcourt. They don't have a guy like Perkins to throw elbows and snag rebounds and neutralize the opposing center. Even mentioning Bosh and Garnett in the same sentence is an insult, Bosh brings about a millionth the intensity that KG does, and KG actually, you know, plays defense. Wade is a better scorer than Ray Allen, and a better defender, but he's not as good from 3, he's injury-prone, and he's not quite as effective when the refs aren't bailing him out. Lebron's Lebron, obviously he's good but he has a tendency to disappear in big games. And Mario Chalmers? Are you fucking kidding me?
Here's a handy chart for you to consult:
Bynum > whoever the heat trot out there
Gasol = Bosh
Artest <<<<< Lebron
Kobe < Wade
Fisher/Blake > Chalmers
LA bench > Miami bench
Jackson = Riley
Jeez, settle down, Beavis. I never said he betrayed them. I don't even give that much of a shit. But he owed them the goddamn common courtesy of a respectful parting in some other format. And to be honest, it's not like the guy ever delivered any of those titles he promised. It's a shame that he cares more about his image than he seems to care about the actual process of playing and winning basketball games.
And you're right, Gilbert is totally butthurt, but that response was awesome, and if you can't take any pleasure in a billionaire completely losing his shit in a press release, than I don't know what to tell you.
