Pedro's daily vinyl hit up

After reading VOP's laughable top 70 pop list I've decided to post one track a day that was released on vinyl. I may get bored & miss a few days from time to time, but I'll do my best to post a quality track that you may not be aware of.

I'll start with one i posted a few months back, some blues. One of my favourites, smokestack lightning.

smokestack lightnin' - HOWLIN WOLF

So it's laughable that I did not put a soul singer on a list of pop singers? I fail to see your logic here. But I do look forward to your song selections.

I have one of my playlists dedicated to music similar to this. I made the list probably a little closer to the first song and a little less tempo than the second song.

My list:

Born too late - Ponitails
Come Go With Me - Dell Vikings
Crying In The Chapel - Orioles
Tonite, Tonite - Mello-Kings
Sh-Boom - Crew Cuts
Duke Of Earl - Gene Chandler
This I Swear - Skyliners
Glory Of Love - Velvetones
Goodnight Sweetheart - Moonglows

Of course those songs are popular by Oldies standards. So I still look forward to the underground roots of such performers.

Great song btw. I wish we had more throwback bands that did this type of music with the driving piano.

I like the original version best, but this is still worth a look if any of ya'll didn't click it:

You called me out and I been civil n' all about it. But I'm still going to have two-up your shizzle the nth degree. If you're going to call my shizzle out as laughable and can only bring some relic eightees beatbox music then that's just some weak sauce.

First 12" I bough HC (mind you - that's not much of a claim, seeing as it was a massive 12" in sales, not size :D )

Yup, should have stayed out of here. I'm getting old and I'm highly at risk of switching to Jazz. Herbie Hancock is just the sort of thing I need to be avoiding.

 It's still playing while I type this.

Surfin' Bird ... awesome stuff ... heard it played in techno clubs a couple of times, needless to say it went off on both occasions :)
