In good news, however, Germany last month finished repaying its World War I debt. It was on the 92-year payment plan.

The U.S. will continue, however, to hold 2/3 of Germany's national gold reserves at the federal bullion depository in New York pending the repayment of World War II debts and interest off debts, which may take 200 years or so.

Hey, .44! :P

There are many nations out there that don't hyper-inflate their standard of living to an unsustainable level with the idea they can do it in the short term as a strategy to bankrupt their ideological enemies before it comes crashing down in on themselves. You'll also notice Cuba and Venezuala absent from the list. But I digress.

Good question. All I know is that, if the s*&# hits the fan, the chances that America is going to keep their fingers out of the German cookie jar is probably slim to nil. The U.S. has the largest gold reserves in the world. Germany has the second largest gold reserves in the world. The Netherlands has the 10th largest gold reserves in the world. The foreign exchange reserves of most European countries is held in gold to astronomical degrees - up to 2/3. All of it is stored on U.S. territory. Why? It's not because the Dutch or the Germans converted the garage into a sewing room and don't have anyplace left to put it. All of these countries had their so-called "Marshall Plan" debt suspended in 1952 - but interest continues to accumulate. Europe is on a short-leash. The U.S. has the Germans and Dutchers and everyone else by the scrot, ready to squeeze the minute any of them try to move their national forces out of NATO unified command.

If the Dutchers removed their military from U.S. control on Monday the nation would wake-up destitute on Tuesday. Some "alliance."

Where's Australia's image?

My suggestion: a man in a Kangaroo pouch with the caption "this is how I save on gas money"

Offer a long-term lease rate on the physical gold of 1%. One leases the physical, and immediately sells it onto the open market and takes that money and puts it into long term bonds at 6%. However, the leasee is expecting that the gold will come back in it's physical form. That might be why there are confirmed stories of Tungsten filled gold blocks circulating throughout African countries.

Oldest trick on the book. People who hold on to gold just can never seem to hold onto it. They always find a way to make a quick buck on moving it around and trying to have it back by the time it is needed. Sure you are familiar with a "Bank-Run". Welcome to the Gold Run.

So I started reading this, and then I went to the wikipedia page, and started laughing my ass off. Do you see whats at the top of the chart? Here, let me copy it for ya:

Country____________External debt____________Date_______________Per capita_______________% of GDP
World__________56,900,000,000,000____31 December 2009 est._______8,422___________________98%

Do you see that? The total debt of the world is 57 trillion dollars! Earth is broke! We couldn't get a loan at the open galaxy bank cause we are so broke.

Did you think about that? How the hell can the entire planet be in debt? Who are we in debt to? Have they discovered aliens? Or are you saying that we just owe each other money? You know what man, lets just call it even.
