That's it to it's definiton. Jay, I think that you're just considering the radical democrats. Not every Demo is a Liberal, just like not every Republican is a conservative (and vice versa). They carry a high correlation I imagine, but I don't think it's fair to people like me (liberal) and other to just group us in with a bunch of extreme lawmakers (i.e, the Happy Meal Toy problem). I define myself as a liberal because I'm really open-minded and support equality yada yada yada that whole thing, not because I'm out to control people's lives or anything silly like that.

With that definition and example, I agree that to a certain extent that some people of a "liberal orientation" can be extreme (just like neo-cons!).
