Actually, I do enjoy eating orange peels. Not in large quantities, because the flavour is overpowering, but in moderation. Every time I eat a slice of orange I take a small bite of the peel and I find the bitter but fragrant flavour really complements the sweeter, blander flavour of the flesh very nicely. Try it sometimes.BigBallinStalin wrote:Fact 2: Ever enjoyed eating the skin of an orange? Didn't think so.
Apples have a hard texture that is painful to bite through and makes an annoying noise like nails on chalkboard. Masochists have been heard to refer to it as "crisp" or other terms. Oranges may or may not leak on your hand, depending on the exact variety of orange (some of which are quite dry and fleshy) but the juice is easily contained by sucking one's fingers. Movie directors are very fond of finger sucking which helps them preserve a PG rating.BigBallinStalin wrote:Fact 3: Apples have a fresh, crisp texture; whereas, oranges are slightly sweeter, yet they leak over your hand, and sticky fingers are frowned upon by society.
Oranges come in many varieties as well. For some reason these varieties don't get as much marketing as all the cutesy names of different kinds of apple, but they are no less diverse.BigBallinStalin wrote:Fact 4: Apples come in many types. Orange only come in orange.

Well, at least you wrote one correct sentence. Too bad you couldn't keep up the trend.BigBallinStalin wrote:Fact 1: Apples are easier to consume. There's nothing to peel.
I suppose since you're a member of the upper crust and can afford quality dental care that might be true for you. But for those of us (most of the world's population, and a good 25% of the population even here in the West) who can't afford dental care and struggle with rotten teeth, nothing could be further from the truth. An apple is damned difficult for me to consume. About once a year I'll struggle through eating a raw apple. The rest of the time I'll eat it only if it has been softened by roasting, baking, or pureeing.Actually, I do enjoy eating orange peels. But even aside from my (admittedly eccentric) tastes, orange peels are a major component of many candies and desserts.Apples have a hard texture that is painful to bite through and makes an annoying noise like nails on chalkboard. GIGO. Wrong premises lead to wrong conclusion.
