February 3, 2525,
Soon after an orbital platform near the UNSC colony of Harvest detected an unknown object contact with the platform was lost. A ship named Argo was sent to investigate and then after a transmission to state that it had arrived. UNSC also lost connection with Argo.
October 7, 2525
After sending a battle force to find out what happened to Argo and the orbital platform. The troops come upon something devastating. The once glorious planet of Harvest had melted down to gas. All inhabitants were dead. Then the group came upon the vessel responsible for the damage. This was later identified as belonging to the Covenant, an alien group of allies. Immediately the covenant vessel attacked these three ships. Only the ship known as the Hercules survived.
Years later,
The UNSC has prepared a mission to find the home planet of the Covenant. On this mission they were to use SPARTAN II soldiers (Spartans are super humans developed for combat). Two days before this mission the planet where it was going to begin (Reach) was attacked by the covenant and destroyed. Only one Spartan on one ship survived. This ship (the Pillar of Autumn) then jumped into hyperspace to hopefully lead the Covenant astray from Earth.
When this ship came out of hyperspace it came to a ring shaped space station (Halo), though this space station also had an environment like a planet. It (the Pillar of Autumn) was then attacked by the Covenant. In a desperate attempt to save the marines and crew on the ship the Spartan on board was awakened from cryogenic suspension and everyone boarded the escape pods on the ship.
The pods managed to land on the ring space station they saw. Only 14 people survived the crash. These 14 people are now in hiding from the Covenant when they discover that there are traitors in there midst. They now are trying to eliminate the traitors and at the same time trying to get off Halo.
It is now day and with 14 alive it takes 8 to lynch
