Might have the best costumer service in the world. I love them. If I lived in the US I wouldn't buy anything outside of Amazon.

It's been many times now that costumer service just impresses me.

Since nobody fucking asked me, I'm going to tell you anyway.

So somehow I made a mistake, sent a huge order (about 1000 usd of stuff) to my import service in Laredo TX and I only checked to say delivered and later was in Tucson AZ to pick that order among other stuff from my mailbox there and surprise! my stuff was 1000mi away. I freak out, I freak out even more, I had to get back to Mexico in 2-3 days.

My import service is useful but they are super expensive for everything they do, and to add to the fire it was saturday afternoon when I first learned my stuff was in Laredo, TX, so at night, after freaking out all day I call Amazon customer service, let them know about my issue, tell them that if it was possible for me to return everything from Laredo,TX (more than a month had passed) and make a new order, which with Prime plus 4usd per item would make it to Tucson on Tuesday (they don't ship stuff on Sunday). They say it was OK, no return labels, anything.

So I contact the jews in Laredo, tell them to return everything, explain 'em how everything had been a mistake and all, ask 'em for a discount or something given my history with them, nothing: Every package 18USD + shipping. Ok, wtf, money comes and goes, my time doesn't come back..

I pay them, don't even wanna know about tracking, just sent an email to Amazon customer service letting them know the packages were on its way and just to confirm everything would be ok. Although I think the mistake had been a combination of my carelessness and a faulty cnofiguration on their system, I said nothing, I had given up on the matter, all I wanted was to forget about it.

A week later I start receiving emails in couples from Amazon, package returned, refund.. like that for every box. After like the fifth couple of emails, I decide to check one. THEY ARE FUCKING REFUNDING ME EVEN FOR THE HANDLING AND SHIPPING OF THE RETURN! THEY ARE PAYING FOR IT!

Isn't that AWESOME??????

Now let me know if you have had a better costumer service.

MAAN. I bought my new laptop with Amazon, and their delivery guy just left the box on my doorstep (about 1 metre from a pedestrian pavement on a busy road). Didn't get it signed for, nothing. Just left it sat out. Wanker.

By my estimation, my experience combined with nietzsche's advert gives the 'Amazon Pros' and 'Amazon Cons' columns one tick apiece.

could have done without this comment.

But, the few times I have used Amazon, they have done well by me as well. I like that they can get you to a lot of independent supplliers/companies.

Uh.. Amazon is not a delivery service? Did you even try to contact them? Chances are it would be covered by the shipper's insurance. (in the US it would).

When I was in Afghanistan half of the boxes my unit received were from Amazon. Used it when I was deployed but in the end Ebay is cheaper.

I ordered something from Amazon and it was sent via USPS. I got an email say it was delivered, but I hadn't received it. I called them and told them and they said that they were going to refund or ship one out that day. I asked them to just refund it.
The next day I see the mail man and he says he "accidentally" brought the package back with him and marked it delivered. So, he gives it to me.
I call Amazon and tell them what happened and they told me to keep the refund and the package. They must have great insurance or something.

I do about 90% of my purchasing of things through Amazon.com. (Excluding groceries/food obv.)

Did you get the laptop though? I'm guessing so if you know it was just left on your doorstep.
