WASHINGTON (AP) — Authorities say 11 people have been arrested in Washington's McPherson Square since Park Police began clearing away tents from one of the nation's last remaining Occupy sites.

David Schlosser, who is a spokesman for the U.S. Park Police, said Sunday that one of those arrested was charged with felony assault on a police officer and assault with a deadly weapon. That person is accused of hitting an officer in the face with a brick Saturday evening. The officer was treated at a hospital.

Three others were charged with assault on a police officer.

Schlosser says officials are continuing to clear the park of unsanitary conditions, though so far Sunday things had remained mostly peaceful.

On Saturday night, the protesters vowed to continue their movement and urged followers to remain nonviolent.

Obaman minion? Of the many Occupy folks I know personally, not a single one likes Obama at all. Where's your correlation?

If you hit a police officer in the face with a brick - you are lucky to remain alive to be charged with anything...hitting someone with a brick is an assault with a deadly weapon...if someone was hitting one of my family members in the face with a brick - I would believe myself justified in shooting them (unless they were a small child) because hitting someone with a brick can kill them.

I don't at all believe that justifies shooting them UNLESS that's your only means of defending yourself (including escape). I do agree with you that could be considered assault with a deadly weapon.

Legally, probably yes. Morally, probably not.

Yea__ The OWS crowd is much more likely to be Reagan Democrats.

If you want correlation, who are the OWS puppet masters? Union leadership. I don't think I need to tell you Obama's relationship with the unions.

Also, they're not minions b/c they necessarily are enthralled with Obama. They're minions b/c they're doing his bidding whether they know it or not.

My children are infant, 4, and 5 - if someone hits them with a brick I am not going to attempt to determine what degree of force I should use in stopping them. I am going 100%. That being said this would probably not be using a gun since I don't often have one.

So let me get this straight....

some Obaman Minion picked up VOL and smashed him into the face of a copper? What's not to like about this story?

You'd be hard pressed to prove a relationship between the literature I picked up at Zucotti promoting anarchism and communism and the unions.*

*That is not to say only anarchists and communists are the only broad labels for people at OWS, but it simply points out your lack of knowledge and/or willful ignorance of the protest.
