I can not understand what it is in people that makes them sometimes want to do this to some bicyclists.

In the city, buses tend to be the worst.

if it was intentional, i think he would have kept on driving. it looked like he was switching lanes very fast to make the left turn.

You're invisible to some people if you're driving the bus never mind on a bicycle.

no way. at first you can see the bicyclist was smack in front of the bus. I imagine the bus driver was laying on the horn and the biker was all nonchalant about it. The driver SAW him and did it on purpose.

Looks like the cyclist was deliberately annoying the bus driver. Whatever the case that bus driver needs some anger management training.

Cyclists are damned if they do and damned if they don't. If they stop at the traffic light, it takes time to get up to speed and Tea Party motorists get enraged. If cyclists maintain momentum by carefully gliding through an intersection despite there being a red light, yet plenty of time to cross before traffic reaches them, Tea Party motorists get enraged because they don't strictly obey traffic laws.
Motorists are fatsos. They should all have to ride a bicycle for one full week in traffic before ever being given a license. Then maybe they'll understand why it's important to share the road.

Nope.
Go ride a bike, you'll find out.

Buses are way more annoying.
Funny video, the bus has an anthropomorphic quiality to it, like its annoyed so it swipes him off the road.

It's a magic bus. A magic, killing machine.

Did what on purpose? a violent crime? and attempt at murder? I hope he's in jail.

Pedestrians: hate drivers and cyclists Cyclists: hate pedestrians and drivers Drivers: hate pedestrians, cyclists and other drivers
Most of us swap roles often.

Bingo HC.
And, pimped, I liked how you "explained" bikes running red lights....lmao. Every one I've seen just assumes they're above the law (when it suits them) Obviously I fall into the "Drivers" category, although I have put thousands of miles on bicycles, having grown up in the boonies - only way to get into town / do anything....but I OBEYED the rules of the road....HA!!

Meh, no, HC is wrong though.
I am all three of those categories. I have both a road bike and a mountain bike. When I drive I'm always considerate of cyclists.
You grew up in the boonies though, Koolbak. Go ride in a city and see how aggressive motorists are. I know a small minority of cyclists do crazy daredevil things occasionally, but the motorists are the ones with the power to kill or maim.

Yeah, I rode INTO town....moderately sized but still a real town....lol. Cars were awful; thats why I was very cognizant of the rules and didn't expect to be treated like a fellow vehicle....no problem. Course this WAS 35ish years ago.....lol. Now I just sit on my ass and hit the gas...after all....when in doubt, GAS IT
My road bike has 160 hp.....riding motorcycles on the road is by far the most dangerous and potentially terrifying thing there is, IMO, but hey....live to ride, ride to live ;o)

It's common sense that a person on a bike should give leeway to a large vehicle that can kill you.
I don't expect everyone to possess that common sense though.

I am astounded by people driving often. Some of it comes down to bullying the smaller vehicle but the, "Sorry, I didn't see you." is also rampant.
Look outside your vehicle and get off the phone.

how exactly do you give leeway to a bus? Go on the fast lane?

I think the driver was texting, dropped his phone, leaned down to pick it up pulling the steering wheel as he did so, and smacked the cyclist.
Did you see the glint of the phone as it dropped?

The bus driver, who's responsible for the safety and well-being of the passsengers, was texting while driving? This just keeps getting better and better.
