Word is the video of Obama in his college days is in safe hands and will still be released.
His "We're not gonna take your bullshit anymore/f*ck You!" speech 2 weeks ago
In the three years since launching his network of sites, Breitbart had become what Time magazine called the Internet’s “most combative conservative impresario”, through his antagonistic appearances on cable television and by publishing controversial stories other media outlets wouldn’t touch.
Breitbart, a lifelong resident of Los Angeles, cut his teeth as a sidekick to Matt Drudge, the secretive figure behind the Drudge Report, widely regarded as the most influential news website in the United States.
He then founded Breitbart.com, which aggregated news from the Associated Press and other news wires and was heavily linked to by the Drudge Report.
In 2005 he helped launch the Huffington Post, but parted company with its founder Arianna Huffington when her politics moved sharply to the left.
Branching out in 2009, he launched Big Government, Big Journalism and Big Hollywood, reflecting the three areas of American life which he regarded as institutionally liberal and unreflective of most Americans’ view of life.
"Most conservatives are individualists," he told Time. "For years, they've been pummelled by the collectivists who run the American media, Hollywood and Washington. The underground conservative movement that is now awakening is the ecosystem I've designed my sites to tap into."
He quickly courted controversy with a story by conservative student activist James O’Keefe purporting to show employees of the Acorn housing agency giving tips on setting up a brothel to undercover reporters. Its veracity was later questioned when it emerged that clips of O’Keefe dressed as a pimp had been inserted after the event.
His biggest scoop was the scandal that led to the resignation of Anthony Weiner, a rising star in Democratic congressional ranks. One of his websites was the first report that Weiner had sent obscene images of himself to women over the Twitter. As Weiner issued strenous denials and suggested his Twitter account had been hacked, Breitbart stood firm and was soon vindicated.
A tribute to Breitbart on Big Journalism read: “We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior.

Andrew Breitbart was a dishonest despicable f*ck. HIs death doesn't change who he was, or my opinion of him.
Edit: I wonder how he died. which Liberal murdered him.

In New Zealand, are such events taken as seriously as they are in the US?
I think in England, from what I've gleaned from a few conversations, people don't really care about these kinds of stories. And since kiwis are just misplaced Brits, I'm sure I can assume the same attitude holds true in NZ.

Heh, the Brits would be all over that story like white on rice, their tabloids love that shit.
In NZ it would depend on a few things. But on the surface: MP gets caught sending dodgey pics to woman, lol who cares.
But 9 times out of 10 there would be more to it; such as spending govt money to join up to dating site, or woman was being harassed or something like that; then people would care.
I think it'd make the news in the first instance but wouldn't result in any meaningful impact on MP's career, the second instance you would see similar fallout to actual story.

American hero Andrew Breitbart screaming at a crowd of protesters that they're freaks and animals, and that they should stop raping people.
Real fucking hero this guy. No wonder Scotty likes him.

I won't believe it's natural causes until we see an autopsy. Breitbart's involvement with the Tea Party is common knowledge. How do we know he wasn't, say, testing Sarin delivery systems for a Tea Party Death Squad?

I was making fun of the response, which is to immediately call anyone they disagree with "racist" for starters. Dru was pretty effective though, in being that one man stopped an entire drum circle!
ObamaCollegeGate on the way? Yesterday during his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference, Andrew Breitbart gave the audience and C-SPAN viewers a preview of what's to come during the 2012 general election against Barack Obama. He said the mainstream media refused to vet Obama in 2008 and that he will not go unvetted in 2012. Breitbart says he has videos of Obama in college that nobody has seen. Considering he's the man who took down ACORN and Anthony Weiner, this could be good.
The videos are in safe hands

Do you have a point? I'm getting a little tired of these razionalisations of yours. So and so said something mean, therefore responding in kind is justifiable. Not that accusing an entire crowd of being freaks and animals and rapists is even remotely comparable to calling a racist sexist bigot, a racist sexist bigot. Your loser hero was clearly trying to incite violence, by haranguing a crowd.
You're just incapable of being reasonable and honest aren't you Scotty?

So Scotty, you hate big government but love the political environment that has led to the bloated ineffective government of which you love?

He was really young, my condolences to his family & friends.
Exposing Wiener was his "big story?"
It's unfortunate for him that contrary to Republican Doctrine, being a conservative douche bag does not guarantee admission into heaven.

Only on a forum with people so freakishly devoted to spouting right wing nonsense would a thread be posted about this guy. Sign of a fucked up zeitgeist.

It was not his big story.
My favorite Breitbart moment (I read him a lot) was the following:
- Alec Baldwin: "Andrew Breitbart is a festering boil on the anus of public discourse." - Andrew Breitbart: "There's NO REASON you should talk to me like I'm your daughter."
A tape was released a few years ago where Alec Baldwin called his young daughter a pig repeatedly.

I thought David Frum was good on the subject, neither ignoring the flaws and making the guy into a saint, nor portraying him as a demon.
Isn't it ironic that the "home of freedom" (i.e. America) produces some of the least creative, mass produced, brainwashing crap in many of its industries. Good use of your freedom team!
Also, shouldnt of Mr Dodgy democrat been "free" to be as dodgey as he likes? Isn't what he does with his spare time on twitter none of "Dru's" business?

"The tolerant left loves to hate and demonize anyone that won't bow down their progressive or liberal agenda__ Exhibit A Andrew Breitbart." Thanks for giving us a first hand example.

Breitbart was actually a pretty intelligent and funny guy. Of course he had a political agenda (although I believe he once worked for the Huffington Post). I mean, if you compare him to more popular alternatives (e.g. Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck) he comes out pretty favorably (although if you compare someone to shit, of course they are going to come out smelling better).
