Please answer question before reading posts

There is no kittens option. Please, without googling, I'd just like to know how many people know what a conker is.

Three's no joke involved, no pun, no gotcha, just this one question, and this member who is asking it being greatly appreciative of everyone who answers. Thanks you.

Please don't post what a conker is. I want as many authentic answers as possible please.

I do not know what it is.

My first thought was a conch shell, but I know that's probably wrong.

The other ways I'd understand it, but with more context, would be to say a woman is attractive "Wow, she's a conker", or to say that someone is dead- "conked out" being slang for dying- "Sorry mate, he's a conker".

Staggering.

I answered the question (knowing as I do what a conker is) then scrolled down to see this answer. However, the good news is....you have missed out some very pertinent information regarding the venerable conker.

Maybe you'll still get some straight responses from those who don't scroll the thread before answering the poll.

The part where there is no single answer, apparently.

Meh, I've done my bit to do right, although to be fair I did offer five different meanings. Maybe some of the folk who quoted me will redact too.

Dunno why I've ever defended you symmetry, people were obviously correct. You're just a spiteful prick. And you don't call a woman a conker, or a nose, or any reference to being hit, a 'conker' It's a 'corker'.

Thanks for your wonderful contrifuckingbution.

Hmm, I've done my level best to redact my post. You're kind of being a bit whiny on this.

Apparantly you were supposed to vote in the poll, then post a comment saying "no". That being pretty much the only way the thread wouldn't rapidly descend to the bottom of the forum.

Your post is another valid meaning of the word, however, so expect a degree of flak.

I did know what it means, but only because I married a Brit. Before I met her, I'd never heard of one.

wtf are you talking about? I said answer the poll question and then asked pretty fucking nicely if people wouldn't post what the answer is. At what point did I state you were to post a comment saying "no"? You could post whatever the f*ck you wanted as long as it wasn't about a conker. Too fucking complex for you, huh?

Rather that than either being too dense to understand a simple request or too much of a prick to not try get a rise out of somebody. Well done symmetry, you pissed soneone off, did it make you feel good? Did you reach your quota for today?

I note that the only place my response still exists is in one of your posts and Fruitcakes' post. Remove your quote, and PM Fruitcake and the problem is largely resolved.

This is me being pretty restrained and accommodating.

I answered "no". I didn't read the posts, but I did check the flag of the original poster to confirm my suspicion that he is a Brit and this word is one of those Brittish-isms with which us yanks wouldn't be familiar.

I've genuinely not seen anything like it before. I've had some fairly bitchy arguments, and some rough bits with other posters, but this was kind of out of the blue. My OP, and the attempts to correct it, were all done in good faith.
