Saxi has commissioned me to work on rebuilding the community ties that have been ravaged by the recent drama, so here's a thread where we can share tips to improve each others lives, gang.

I'll go first: http://readfa.st/

They have a nifty button thingy that you can put on your toolbar and then press on any article you're reading. This allows you to read the article contents through their website, which has the added functionality of setting a certain reading speed (only a couple of words are visible at a time and they move according to your desired reading speed). If you want to take a quick pause to ponder the ramifications of the nip slip you're reading about, no worries, just hit space.

Thus you can both read the thing more quickly and develop your fast reading skills.

They have a bunch of other features as well, comprehension tests to see what speed you should be aiming for, additional suggested reading material and so on.

if you don't know what wolframalpha is, then you're not a college student currently taking calculus

my favorite firefox addon is firegestures

i've installed firefox at least 10 different times and this is always the first addon i get.

it makes browsing way faster.

and if it wasn't for firegestures then i'd probably be using opera

Second on wolframalpha. Pure awesomeness. I never went to class for my calculus sequence, just read from the book and used wolfram for explanations I was unclear of. It's pretty useful for just about everything, more than math.

Page Saver Basic: http://pearlcrescent.com/products/pagesaver/

It creates a nice button for your toolbar to instantly capture an image of your browser, so you can save it as an image file. Great for if you need to grab screenshots of long webpages or websites with a click of a button.
