The economy and debt/spending are the most important issues to me, and the biggest issues to the overwhelming majority of Americans. How are those not in here?

Not the best poll

I really don't understand how people care so much about "the economy" when they don't even know what it is.

And I further don't understand why people can choose a candidate on how they "handle the economy" when the president really does no handling of the economy in any way shape or form.

The president is as important as the queen in terms of actual politics-ing

If the president can set the legislative agenda, then the president can hold vast influence over the economy. If he can hold closed-door meetings with Bernanke, then the president can strongly influence the economy by affecting interest rates. Of course, this comes with all the inherent problems of central planning, but I digress.

The queen of England is a figurehead. The president of the US commands the strongest military in the world; he is the most powerful person in the world. They aren't similar "in terms of actual politics-ing."

To show that the voters on the other "side" of the political spectrum are meanies, especially in regards to people who abuse positions of authority, say teachers or pastors for example.

The Massive Amounts of Debt are in the Raising the Debt Ceiling portion.
The budget is spelled out by programs that cost money, like obamacare, the wars, taxes on the rich etc.

Please define "The economy". It's there under 'Jobs" etc. I forgot the housing market...I should have included it.

Exactly. What is the economy? It's made up of lots of things, like government spending, taxes, debt ceiling, wall street economy, War, taxes, jobs etc. If I put in a poll option for "the economy" I might as well have put in a poll option for "the country" and maybe "people". Can you get more generic?

Except I don't support raising the debt ceiling while I do support cutting the massive amounts of debts, so it is not actually covered. And while Obamacare and the wars do have a relationship to the budget, taxes on the rich implies that taxing them more will solve the budget when it won't. There needs to be across the board spending cuts, not just pet-project ones.

Question - Am I voting for the most important issues to me or what I think the most important issues are to other people? For example, jobs are not important to me since I have one... PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Is it important to you that your neighbor has a job? What about your wife? Do you care about other people or just yourself?

Also, you spelled "Roe" wrong.

"Deficit spending" should have been on there. That's going to lead to a "moment of truth" for all Americans. Either the US will default, or it print a bunch of money to cover its accumulating debt--as the politicians continue to increase taxes and/or decrease spending in order to push back this inevitable decision.

"Deficit spending" is the most important issue and the least talked about because (1) it's depressing to acknowledge, (2) most voters don't understand it, (3) the means which use deficit spending lead to gaining more votes, so it's politically suicidal for nearly all politicians to end deficit spending.
