Free annual passe to US parks for active service members

The US National Park Service is offering free annual passes to members of the military.

They should give those passes to the Coast Guard instead, or firefighters... or EMTs...

Why not just give them to anyone who has provided a high risk social service (ie all of the above :P)?

The Coast Guard is generally considered to be a part of the military...was there a stipulation against them?

And I agree regarding the firefighters and EMTs...no question.

Parks are so boring. Mostly because I grew up in the Adirondacks.
