Nafanya, the rescued Russian Ginger Seal. It's nearly blind, and was found hiding under some wood. The other seals shunned it for it's color.

Pistol Shrimp, mofos

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pistol_shrimp

"The animal snaps a specialized claw shut to create a cavitation bubble that generates acoustic pressures of up to 80 kPa at a distance of 4 cm from the claw. As it extends out from the claw, the bubble reaches speeds of 60 miles per hour (97 km/h) and releases a sound reaching 218 decibels.[11] The pressure is strong enough to kill small fish"

"The snap can also produce sonoluminescence from the collapsing cavitation bubble. As it collapses, the cavitation bubble reaches temperatures of over 5,000 K (4,700 °C).[15] In comparison, the surface temperature of the sun is estimated to be around 5,800 K (5,500 °C)"

PHYSICS! That's some cool stuff.

The woolly bear caterpillar can be frozen at about -70C and will still be alive when defrosted.

This is a Water Bear. The first organism proven to survive the vacuum of space. And it's from Earth.

In proportion, the Peacock Mantis Shrimp is more aggressive than a Great White. It has the most complex eyes in the world. It's strike is faster than a .22 pistol. It smashes it's food to death.

the only nature shows worth watching are produced by BBC. and really the only tv that's any good. that's why in the U.S. PBS is almost entirely british shows. and the only funny shows are spinoffs of british citcoms.

or you can watch dancing with the stars and survivor.....

I think the Peregrine Falcon, Crocodile, and Mustang rank up there.
Also, why has nobody mentioned the honey badger?
