It‘s very rare that you see President Obama admit wrongdoing after he’s done something. Unfortunately, it’s much more common for him to say something is a bad idea and then do it. Listing the number of instances would take too long, but it‘s safe to say it’s a common trend.

And now there’s just one more example. In the following clip, taken from a 2011 Univision Town Hall, President Obama admits that it’s beyond his power to suspend deportations for anyone because (surprise, surprise) there are laws on the books that he’d be breaking by doing that. In other words, the President acknowledges that to do what he did today would be a rank violation of the separation of powers. Watch below:

Why doesn't Congress stand up for the Constitution and the proper role of the government? This president is unilaterally removing Congress from their role of making laws simply because their laws get in his way. We have a dictator, not a president.

Actually, this is not a question of disagreement. While I like this particular action the president has taken, it is absolutely against the law and brings into question the separation of powers issue. Some or many people may support what the president has done, but it is most assuredly illegal.

If you look at the presidents of the 20th and 21st centuries. I think most of them you could try to fit into this mold.

Actually, at least one of those responses you're decrying DID imply that. And aside from that, several of those were direct responses to at least one of Night Strike's points.

First of all, are huamulan and Bones2484 really liberals? I hadn't noticed any particular tendency in that regard for either of them.

Anyway, huamulan essentially acknowledged what you are claiming he did not...that he was not at all shocked that Obama (or any President, for that matter) would do something of that nature.

Andy's comment was essentially the same, in fact.

Bones2484 directly responded to Night Strike's point about Obama being a dictator, and relevantly so. In fact, his statement was highly appropriate and accurate.

In fact, of all the statements you listed, I can only see one of them as being a "typical liberal response" and that is pmchugh's. Of course, there is a lot of truth to his as well, because I also find it unlikely that Night Strike would find such outrage regarding a conservative President taking such actions. In fact, one could not-unreasonably find THAT to be Night Strike's real point in all of it.

every one of the posts i quoted are making excuses for obama because "somebody else did it once". that is a terrible excuse.

I am not an Obama supporter or a Democrat in the slightest and I don't really care enough about the actual subject to comment. I just find some of our rather tunnel visioned posters amusing.

Why does the messenger or the president doing this matter in the least? The president has violated the law; unfortunately, he will not be detained because the executive branch controls enforcement of the laws.

I do think the law needs to be changed and I applaud the president for taking a stand against a clearly draconian and stupid law. Not that he needs me, but I'll be happy to join his legal defense team once he's arrested.

I didn't see any of them throw ad-hominems at Night Strike...where did you see that? What I saw was them reacting to "some stupid shit that Night Strike said" when he stated that Obama was essentially a dictator.

that is a good point, but just because there are dictators who are worse does not mean we should turn a blind eye when our president bypasses Congress

Because it is their standard operating procedure. This is just the result of a dumbed down populace.

Obama should have passed this when he could have, not after he got his Congress taken away from him in the biggest landslide since 1938.

It's too bad he only cares about how many votes this will get him. Basically I'm not worried about it, because just like when Obama came out in support of same sex marriage verbally, everyone looks past the reality that he isn't actually doing anything to support same sex marriage. That's what he always does. He knows this is enough for people who base everything on their feelings, and he knows it will work on people who don't make it a habit to think about things. Laws, tradition, Constitution, Congress, heritage, culture, principles, borders, common sense, security, values be damned.
