In fact, it sort of acknowledges that white people don't need much help in this regard, which IMO is a compliment.

also, it goes both ways. I think promoting "black pride" is creating a stronger divide between races. There is absolutely no reason for a "black history month".

Tommie Smith stated in his autobiography, Silent Gesture, that the gesture was not a "Black Power" salute, but in fact a "human rights salute".
